News Edwards vs Chimaev Targeted Jan 20th

Hmm, not fair if you ask me. Didn't Leon lose like 12 lbs from being so sick? Is he still sick?

Edwards also loses to Usman, Colby, Burns and possibly also against Masvidal (competitive fight).

Chimaev will fight for the title in 2021. He might have to fight Burns for the title though.

The way Gilbert has been looking lately, he'll beat Usman. His cardio matches Usman's, his striking is more violent and with more output and he's better on the ground. Usman will have to keep him at distance and try to hold him against the cage to win. Gilbert has more ways to win and to control the pace of the fight.
 
Honestly I don't like this.

I want to see Khamzat fight Leon at his best, not his worst. It sounds like Leon has had a rough time with COVID and lost a bunch of weight. Let him get better and back to 100% before he fights Khamzat. I'm all aboard the Khamzat train and want to see him fight the best. A debilitated Leon Edwards is not the best.

Maybe just make the Magny fight or have Khamzat murder Mike Perry while Leon recovers
 
I'm sort of surprised if Edwards accepts this without being able to get in a full two month camp...

This is true because if Khamzat wins they will just say it's because Leon wasn't really ready. If khamzat loses then people will say he sucks. Its lose lose for the wolf.

Because if Khamzat loses Magny the hype is over. And Khamzat still has to fight another guy to get a title shot if he wins. For the company this match up is high risk/low reward

If Khamzat loses to Leon the #3 guy in the world. The Khamzat hype is still salvageable and they can use to hype to try and sell Leon/Usman 2. BUt if Khamzat wins they have a new superstar they can launch directly into a titileshot. For the company this is low risk/high reward

What if he's not ready for Leon and gets dominated and exposed? The guys he's beaten aren't that high level. Magny is a good stepping stone to the top 10.
 
If I was Edwards I would tell them to put it in February or March. Give him time to get back to normal if possible
