Eddie Hall vs Thor - March 19th

My segi stream is well shite, but then again my laptop is fucking jurassic, so ni idea which is at fault.

Yeah its been on for like a hour of people who don't seem to know they have a hot mic & a show to put on. Did they get the time zones mixed up?

Yah, it was a crazy feat. Thor's lift was very different tho. He did it in the comfort of his home gym - not in front of 10K people - and he lifted just that 501KG vs the 440, 465, etc that Eddie did before. Id imagine Eddie could have done a bit more had he been able to do it in his house vs competition. Alot of other strongmen, like Brian Shaw, dont recognize Thor's 501 as being legit for those reasons, in addition to the fact his Dad weighed the weights vs an actual commission.

It sux as both are retired and it may be a while before anyone pulls that again. There is no question that Thor is more physically gifted tho ---- gonna be a fun fight for just the style clash, like racing a blue collared hard trying race horse vs a blue blooded superior physically royal bred race horse; both great but so different.

An argument could be made for the adrenaline rush of doing it in front of that many people as opposed to your home. When I compete I get a rush from being in front of people. But, you’re spot on with the attempts. Eddie had taken two heavy attempts and just kept going. Thor knew exactly what he had to beat from that day.

In any case, they are both amazing strongmen.

Thor lifted 420, 460 and then 501. The conditions were the exact same that Eddie had minus the audience. It was only a competition in name, the entire thing was designed in order to allow Eddie to break the record. It was organized by his close friend. Thors weights were weighed in the presence of Magnus Ver Magnusson who was there as an agent of the sanctioning body, and if I’m not mistaken, was actually the judge who ruled against Thor at the 2017 WSM, so he’s clearly shown he’s not biased. Either way the record was broken, no matter what anyone says, it’s written in stone that Thor has it.
