Eddie Hall vs Thor - March 19th

Does the winner get to be Jake Paul's personal bodyguard... ;)

Poor Eddie. He put so much weight on his shoulders. The 10K to Larry just a drop in the bucket - he said he would give a million to charity, and the worst part is get Thor's name tattooed on him! He was coming up with all these bets and now he has to pay the piper. The fallout is gonna be lit, and I can totally see Eddie making an excuse to protect his ego.
All that talk of violence and ending somebody to lose a 6 round decision. Didnt look like Eddie went "Beast" in the last round. Combat sports is a totally different animal.

He talked about how he likes to put so much pressure on himself that he cant lose. That is probably why he had all these insane bets going on and did so much trash talking, but you are right: combat sports a totally different animal. Fatigue makes cowards of us all. I knew he would keep getting up and not quit, but he clearly mentally changed a great deal from the first round to the last. I was hoping he would go ham at the end, but he never did that - also found it weird the final bell rang with like ten seconds. If you are down and will lose, what do you have to lose by going ham?

Gonna be fun seeing what he says after this or wants the rematch.

just saw lol.

How is Eddie taking the loss? Did Hafthor do good in your opinion?
He did great staying composed and sticking to his game plan.

His defense is poor. Eddie had him in trouble in the 1st 2 rounds. Thor doesn't tuck his chin or move his head. Eddie's weird ass spamming overhand style threw thor off. Also Eddie's speed gave him some issues.

Once Thor got his timing and rhythm combined with Eddie gassing, Thor busted Eddie up bad. Once Thor pumped his jab Eddie had nothing really for him but hail Mary hayemakers. Thor even ate a couple of the later ones, they didn't phase him.
I would say Thor knows how to box and has some ability but nowhere near anything professional. Very rudimentary but thats very effective for his size and strength. He has decent fundamentals for such a big new guy. You can tell he trained and did the right things. Like a real boxer.

They dumb stream started spamming non stop commercials after the final bell so I didn't see the interviews. Also Eddie was trying to dap Thor up after telling him good job...lmao

I think the stream & audio were not synced or the timer was off. Horribly ran event.
It's like the Teddy Atlas saying. You are making a silent agreement with yourself to "quite" or just make it look like you are still fighting. Happens to the best of em. Thats fighting. He didn't want his enemy to floor him again.

yeah I am watching it now and caught the ending highlights. Eddies face is busted up and he got dropped and lost a decision he looks bad in light of all the crap he talked.

Edit: looks like Eddie doing his best Artem Lobov impression, if Artem had one arm. He showed no fundamentals, just tried to depend on head movement, thinking he was a prime Roy Jones. He always ragged on Thor for surrounding himself by "yes men", but dude did not even keep his hands up, something you learn at your first day boxing. How did Eddie's coach think this was a good game plan?

Yeah he ate a lot of humble pie...aka Thor's fist.

At least he can say he did drop Thor once or maybe even twice. I think his 2nd knockdown might have been mistakenly ruled a push or slip. Looked kind of clean to me.

Just watched the fight. I don’t follow Eddie much but I follow Thor for a while now and considering all he put into learning how to box (even if he still sucks) as opposed to Eddie who seemed to learn one punch, im glad Thor won.

It's embarrassing, he talks likes he's stokes hardest man! Then puts on that performance and gets jabbed to death.
The guys has "the beast" tattooed across his biceps, a fake scar on his eye from apparently been glassed. He talks about all this bad stuff he's done in the past and how if someone bad mouths people where he lives they get there nose bitten off...okay then Eddie haha
I used to like him but unfortunately as times gone on, build up from the fight and more fame he's got the more absolute bollocks he comes out with. He's like Jay from inbetweeners. Full of it....bit narcissistic I'm not a fan anymore. He's a nugget.

I would be interested in Thor vs Eddie's buddy Martin Ford. Especially since Ford's opponent the Iranian Hulk is a total fraud.
