Eddie Hall vs Thor - March 19th

That was better than I expected. Thor has solid fundamentals, if he wasn't so heavy he could have a prospective boxing career.
Eddie did what I thought he would do, throw haymakers and gas early. Not surprised, he has no technique. What the fuck was that shoulder lean? Lol
I started watching right before the fight started so I can't comment on the lateness or stream, but the announcer was good and the ring girls were hot.
Overall 6.7/10 event

The worst part is he has to get "worlds strongest man: Thor" tattooed on him lmfao! Also has to give a ton of money to Thor's charity of choice. I wonder how his ego deals with this and if they rematch.
 
Eddie looked like he was going to butcher thor in those first two rounds then gassed horribly and looked like shit. Probably threw 10 punches the whole rest of the fight. Frustrating to watch but both looked better than expected.

They’re definitely gonna do a rematch to make some more money. Hopefully Eddie gets a real boxing coach this time so it’s more competitive from a technical standpoint.

From deadlifting 1 kg more (regardless of dubious circumstances) to whipping his ass, this is some serious Arch Nemesis level shit

Not only that, but he also had a career defining role in a blockbuster tv production as the Mountain. Eddie wants nothing more than to be the dude portraying these strongman villains with that silly self inflicted scar over his eye and Thor has him on that too.

And the thing is Thor lives deep in eddies mind

I don’t think Thor actually gives a fuck about this rivalry except when Eddie shit talks him but Eddie stays up at night thinking about Thor disparaging his 2017 win

Eddie actually did better than expected. Much of his footage looked like total amateur hour, but he was able to land alot, especially early, but being a more fast twitched shorter fighter his explosiveness went later on and he was horrifically telegraphing everything. A part of me expected him to get steam rolled, but he definitely held his own. Thor seems to take a while to get the cobwebs out and is kinda a slow twitch Diaz type that gets you later on with his range and his cardio.

Id def watch a rematch if Thor keeps to his word and does it, especially for free again. It was not elite boxing but it was a really fun amateur type fight with knockdowns on both sides and back and forth action. Id also like to see Martyn Ford vs Thor too - that would be insane just based on the sheer size of both. Ford may be bigger than Thor even, and like Thor, he took training very seriously.

Eddie is a really good athlete that much is clear
He has a good grasp on distance and timing
I just think Thor took boxing way way more seriously

Poor Eddie. He put so much weight on his shoulders. The 10K to Larry just a drop in the bucket - he said he would give a million to charity, and the worst part is get Thor's name tattooed on him! He was coming up with all these bets and now he has to pay the piper. The fallout is gonna be lit, and I can totally see Eddie making an excuse to protect his ego.
