Eating disorders are terrifying

a sister of a guy i used to go to school was bulimic.

after dinner every night he said she would run a long shower and that was when she was throwing up. one day the family realised she was in the shower for a very long time and knocked on the bathroom door to no response. the father broke down the door and found the daughter passed out with her head on the toilet bowl seat with puke and bile in the toilet. they took her to the hospital straight away and she was alright in the end.

but yeah, eating disorders and body dysmorphia are crazy things.

Instagram isnt the issue really. It is basically photo sharing for a closer circle of friends. There is tons of body positivity on there and anti bullying stuff I think it has helped people

TikTok is more the issue as they dont regulate anything and the appeal is short video 10 second or 30 second or so clips of absurdity.

Insta has followed tiktok with Insta shorts...........

And it's filled with the same tiktok Plebs.

The problem is the younger generation, that gets sucked into this crap, it's designed to occupy your time to basically data mine you.......

I know but Instagram policies far more. You wont see the craziness and chaos of TikTok on Instagram. Instagram is 100x more tame and "kid friendly"

TikTok is like 4chan of the Social media world only it has like 800 million users of which most are women and they are viewing porn daily and violence through TikTok. TikTok is genius chinese spyware and data mining. It also corrupts the west and TikTok promotes and allows all anti western thought but not anti china

F@ck Instagram, tic toc and all other forms of social media. That shit is for fakers, haters, and trolls and it's poisonous to young teens.
100% agree with you.

My 5ft6 120lbs girlfriend thinks she is fat. It's a daily struggle to make her understand she is skinnier than 90% of girls her age (29) and she is at a healthy weight.

Good think is that I'm the one on charge of the cooking.

My best friend back in elementary and middle school would go purge in the bathroom after every meal. Never once brought it up to him. He now has more mental issues then just about anyone I've ever personally known.

Take care of her TS,
My sister struggled with this for a few years and she ended up commiting suicide at 22yrs old.

Seek all the help you can Brother.
It's not going to be easy.
Oh, man, I'm sorry to hear that.

My Sis in Law is anorexic now. At 44. Can not talk sense to her. We are doing an intervention this week and getting her in a rehab.
Bad comparison being she found fame on Big Brother but a UK girl who was horridly anorexic was in and out of rehab for it and eventually died from it. She didn't intentionally do it, she just wasted away. Good luck with it, I've had a strange relationship with food over the years, sometimes barely 200 calories a day for months on end, and then sometimes eating far too much for months on end.

It's not just the videos (on tik tok, youtube and instagram), it's also the comment section of the videos that contain toxicity that young minds cannot put in the proper context.

This is what scares me the most (bolded).

As for your own relationship with food, I hope you are at peace with yourself and where you are at (regardless of your current weight). Society really puts pressure on women to look thin.

My weight has gone up and down over the years as well but aside from wanting to be healthy I've never felt pressure to look a certain way.

What a kind comment. Thank you, it isn't a struggle at the moment, but the sentiment was lovely.
And no, if you feel comfy then that's all that counts, right?

This might be a truly stupid recommendation, but maybe try giving them shrooms
