Easy way to resolve all weight cutting issues in the UFC

Wrong wrong wrong.

The only way to stop weight cutting issues is to stop weight cutting. If you just introduce fines, fighters will still take that chance.

The only way to stop issues is to stop weight cutting.

Same day weigh ins with dehydration tests the week of the fight.

Make weigh-ins 4 hours before fight time. No way to cut weight everyone will fight at walk around weight. Create a Super Heavyweight division for the big men and last but not least you miss weight 75% of your pay goes to your opponent if both miss weight 75% of both fighters pay goes to charity.
No athletic commission is giving money to charity. They keep that shit.

Just do the damn hydration tests, no need to rip the already meager purse of the fighters for doing what everyone else is doing by abusing weightcutting.

This, coupled with fight-day weigh ins. No more sapped welterweights fighting at "lightweight."

-First time you don't make weight, you're fined 10% of your purse per pound, up to 50%.

-Second time you don't make weight, you're fined 20% of your purse per pound, up to 80% and never allowed to compete at this weight class or lower.

Problem solved.

There's absolutely no way guys who are 185lbs should fight at 145 or 155. You should cut at the very most 15-20lbs, and even that is a lot.

Not bad ...doesnt really stop it..its more of a reactionary solution or what to do after a failed cut..but i think we need a proactive solution or a mixture

Ive come up with this ..

All fighters are subject to two weigh ins per event..one is offical televised weigh in when he or she has to make the contracted weight. Example:155lbs.

Then he or she has to weigh in a second time day of the fight at a non televised weigh in 6 hours before the first fights are to begin , regardless of there placement on the card. At this second wiegh they must be no more then 10lbs heavier then there offical weigh in weight. For example 155lbs at offical cant be more then 165lbs come fight day weigh in.

Anyone who misses either weigh in gets none of the pay and it all goes to there opponent if he/she makes weight sucessfully both times .As this is a breach of contract and should be seen as such and they should losing half as penalty and the second half as damages to the opponent who came on weight and didnt get to perform or suceed career wise as a fight being scrapped is essentially void ranking wise and fighting at the disadvantage of weight could negatively hurt there rankings or careers and health. In the rare event of double miss ..negiotations can be made to save the fight or neither are paid and the fight is a total loss.

This will effectively curve big cutters as its too risky to fail and overall makes the competition closer and fairer..let me know what you think im thinking of reaching out to the UFC about this.
