It's the rule set like someone said before. I blame gsp for the way most fighters perform. They just dont have his rizz... or jizz?
Right, the old "real fight bro" argument. I have seen many wrestlers in streetfights and they finish 10 out of 10 of those with a slam on the floor resulting in severe spine, neck and brain damage. There is no scrambling. Only paralysis or death. This fighting style doesn't work anywhere outside a matted octagon, don't get excited. No real world fights look like this. Imagine scrambling for takedowns on a concrete floor LOL. Thats why these guys get their asses kicked all.over the planet.
There's absolutely zero chance Khamzat picks DDP up and slams him on the floor on the outside World. Zero. Also no chance it looks like that scrambling borefest we just watched, which is why these "fights" are such a charade.Right, the old "real fight bro" argument. They're just better fighters on average. It may not be marketable or fan friendly, but unless you want to artificially remove them for being too good at fighting, it is what it is.
Also nobody is stopping everyone in the rest of the world from learning how to defend a takedown, fight off their back and get back to their feet. They just for the most part arent able to do it well enough to stop these guys.
But that fight style doesn’t happen by accident. While a guy like Topuria is training combinations in the gym to deliver a brutal knockout, Tsarukyan is drilling grappling for control

Inb4 some mug tells me I don’t know what I’m watching or whatever..
They all fight with the same goal, just a different approach - Take your opponent to a decision while taking absolutely zero risks. Chimaev last night didn’t posture up a single time to do damage to DDP because in doing so would have created an opportunity for a scramble
Ank does the same thing - “mixes it up” meaning he throws takedowns in when his opponent is not expecting it and does no damage, it’s just a tool to control the fight, to ensure no damage is taken
To be fair to Merab he is the most exciting out of the three. Especially in his fight with Umar he was in the pocket trading
The more guys from these regions that are on the roster, the worse the product becomes for the neutral spectator - and that is an objective fact
I think it’s interesting to explore why these guys might fight like this
