Pretty good first round, considering what I expected to be a mismatch.

You look at the betting odds pre fight? It was near a pick em, Naito slightly favored pre fight. It's only a mismatch if they stepped on a bodybuilding stage lol.

I am biased against any Japanese fighter from the regionals above lightweight.
A lot of them lose to Career Journeymen all the time.

Yeah, well done lad.

Fought through some really uncomfortable situations where he looked very green, but defended himself well from strikes and was just super powerful on the feet.
 
He needs to practice nothing but wrestling 24/7. Defending and getting back to his feet.
