I didn't say that, I just think there are new opponents who can produce great fights or even greater ones.

Gaethje's fight was good, but I haven't watched it yet due to lack of interest.

Finally, I think that in certain contexts it makes sense, but that is not the case.

Dustin has said he's only fighting a legend in his final fight so who exactly is this new opponent he's gonna accept? Its Justin, Max or Charles and he's fought all 3, Max is actually the one who he fought the longest ago.

If it's Dustin's retirement, ideally, you want it affecting the title scene as little as possible, since only his opponent winning brings a benefit to the division. Because of that, I like it more than the Justin trilogy, being that Max just got KO'ed, is just coming to LW permanently for the first time instead of one-off's, and the guy who just KO'ed him is ALSO coming up to LW permanently and should, by almost all consideration, be before Max in any kind of booking.

Still though, it'd be a shame to derail Max again, doubly because of his LW aspirations and because Volk is still at FW, so if Max decided to drop down again, FW would almost entirely be an afterthought until Lopes/Evloev beat Holloway/Volk

I've seen Dustin beat Max twice already and neither fight was controversial. What does beating him a third time prove?

even though he's just fought and dreaming about a title shot Justin vs Dustin 3 should be how Dustin retires win/lose it will be one of the all time great Trilogies of MMA.

I've seen people float the ideas of RDA, Colby or even Usman. And there's always Conor if he wants to avenge the doctor's stoppage.
If Poirier wanted to retire without a big cut in ww, they're all fit legends although RDA and Colby feel like they could be one sided sadness at this point.

I don't see him as a real contender but at #6 hooker is a valid option for anyone in the mix without an opponent.
