Media Dustin Poirier seems really annoyed in his interview with Ariel

The first time my girlfriend saw a Poirier interview, her sole impression was that he seems to have a chip on his shoulder and a "woe is me" attitude.

Can't say I blame him though - he is one of the best fighters in the UFC and has been for years, he also seems like a nice guy, yet has just flown under the radar big style.

For whatever reason, fans haven't really taken to him and ALWAYS underrate him. Even now after destroying that mouthy bellend, people are finding it hard to accept he's probably the best LW in the world with Kebab retired.

Yet another reason it's so weird fans take him for granted - he is undoubtedly one of the most exciting and violent fighters in the UFC. Him and Max are fighters who are guaranteed to bring it every time, and must watch.

agree with what's being said about dustin being a fair bit awkward. then again, ariel does seem to have that effect on people. he was close to being killed by rampage at one point.

He screamed “I hate this shit” right after knocking out Conor. I thought it was a pretty weird thing to yell out after winning at the time, just chalked it up to maybe being mad at having to deal with all the fight island BS.
But hey I’d be a little annoyed too if I just got a bunch of disrespect all week and the media was just sucking off my opponent.

Yeah I totally agree with you, I thought it was so weird after having one of the biggest wins in his career that he said "I hate this shit", me and my dad was watching it together and we was both confused by that. I was surprised it was not really discussed a lot on here, I thought there would be tons and tons of threads on it, but I barely saw anything.

Even when he had that huge nonsense and debacle with Eddie, he never said anything close too that, he will still positive.

good on dustin for calling ariel out like that, honestly.

Ariel is managed by Conor’s management. Besides that, he likes to instigate drama like the true little weasel he is. I’d rather have Schmo’s weird ass asking friendly questions
More people need to be notified of this before they take him serious. It's so clear the bias he has for paradigm clients.

He looks stressed out like he has other shit going on that no one knows about (as we all do) and he’s just trying to finish the interview. And glad he checked Ariel about the pay question, he didn’t ask Ariel how much ESPN pays him! Lmao

I think this has happened before. I vaguely remember Ariel was asking him something about another fighter (Tony?) and was clearly fishing for a headline, and Dustin called him on it.

I think it was when Dustin and Colby had a beef and Ariel went full weasel like "oooohhh what's gonna happen when you two see each in the gym?"

Seems to be related to monetary issues, he def didn't get PPV points for his bout with Conor given his answer to that question. UFC being stingy bastards as usual.

ppv points aren't awarded in the ring. That's why I say this man needs to get a media team and put out his story out there to be more relatable to the people.. If he doesn't care to do that, fine but don't think you're going to start getting ppv points just because you see your buddy masvidal getting it.

I like dustin, but I'm a hardcore. When Khabib beat conor, dagestan chronicles was online for a year. Many people flock to that documentary series and found a new level of appreciation for khabib. When Dustin won, there was really nothing out there.

Jorge Masvidal had a youtube channel before he even blew up. Nate has one, etc. Dustin doesn't do a good job of pushing his brand.

Instead, he seems kinda like in his feelings instead of looking to capitalize on beating conor.

Why is Gaethje so high? he lost his last fight and is 5-3 in the UFC
Why is Conor ranked aswell? get that leprechaun back to featherweight
If you're gonna ask why Gaethje is so high, you have to ask why Oliviera is so high too.

Their best win is Tony Ferguson.

Conor at best should be at the bottom of the top 10 I agree.

Can't blame Dustin. Most of the media has been discrediting his win and making exuses for Conor. It's moreso about Conor losing then Dustin winning. They are clearly showing that they have never watched a Dustin fight, other then Conor/Dustin 1. Anyone who has seen Dustin's recent fights would know that he has all the tools to not only beat, but finish Conor.

Dustin brought up good points. If Conor starched Dustin like he did to Cowboy last year, media/fans would go on about how he is unstoppable. but now since Conor lost he is not considered washed up and no longer in his prime etc.

Ariel is annoying but Poirier seems annoyed to be doing interviews in general. He seemed just as annoyed in the other interview he did with MMAJUNKIE. Seems he is just over MMA.

That being said, Helwani keeps pushing the McGregor vs Poirier rematch for the title and that’s annoying me. Poirier wasn’t even thinking of that but Helwani kept pushing it. FUCK YOU HELWANI! Go back to being fan of pro wrestling. In actual sports champions are crowned by winning.

TS was probably one of the Sherdoggers who claimed because Dustin was quiet during fight week, he was already shook and resigned to lose.

Sherdog psychologists are amusing to say the least.

You know you’re a cringe interviewer, when the Schmo is more professional than you. I’m fine with Ariel asking Dana the hard questions, but he’s annoying when he interviews a lot of fighters.

I mean hell he almost seemed annoyed with Luke Thomas on Morning Kombat and they get along well . I mean he did state in that interview and others that the only he likes about the fight game is the fighting itself . Everything else is bullshit in his mind

UFC should make Chandler vs Oliveira (neither lost to Khabib) for the title. And Conor can fight Nate in a trilogy.

Poirier can fight someone else for peanuts if he doesn't want to fight Chandler.

He's getting annoyed with most of these media guys because he doesn't like the framing of their questions. That said, he isn't adept enough to reject the framing and talk about what he wants to. Whole different skill there. So he's just going to continue to be frustrated until someone interviews him in a way that he doesn't feel like they're trying to get him in some way
