Dustin is the only fighter Conor's fought who's outlanded him at distance

Sample size 80 seconds... Great
Just think of the idiocy when people were using that exact argument why Conor beats Aldo 10/10 when the sample size was only 13 seconds.

Conor was vulnerable to the left strait, he got his tooth chipped iirc.

All of their striking stats are almost identical, even strikes absorbed per minute. If Dustin can just get out of the first round, Conor may be in serious trouble.
I heard it broke in half, but ok

Rewatched that fight a couple times now and I seen the same, w/o stats. He looked good up until the hook behind the ear. The follow up hammer fists that came when he dropped were def back of head though.....

Not according to the unified rules and Herb Dean, the referee in the fight.

Clearly all legal shots when Dustin was on the ground according to Dean's explaination.

I re watched Hooker v Poirier, Michael Johnson v Poirier and Mcgregor v Poirier I today.

The takeaway is Poirier gets hit a lot, his defence is very sloppy if not non-existent.

The one thing he has gotten better at is rolling with punches but against Hooker in his most recent fight he was getting tagged with knees and punches pretty easily when in and exiting the clinch.

I really want Poirier to pull off an upset but I can’t see it happening with Conor’s power and precision. Conor sleeps him.

If he does, he'll be knocked out in comically quick fashion.

Agreed, no one can bring it to Conor, the only chance anyone has of surviving is to basically run for their lives. Just too powerful.

So much power. Here are some good examples.

Comparing MMA striking to boxing striking is like comparing apples and oranges.

Great example moron

Meh, 1 devestating blow is worth more than whatever "strikes" Poirier landed here though. Anyone watching the fight could see who was winning

Herb never EVER admits when he's wrong, and he's been wrong a shit ton.

Dustin will surprise people. The guys GOOD and tough as nails. We shall see what's up tomorrow night.

Nice stg’s

I understand back of the head and how it has changed. It used to be the “mohawk” area and Herb shows more importance to protect the very back of skull where spine meets cranium.

The hook that dropped Dustin was clearly behind the ear, but in a “safe” zone according to the rules. Those shots still cause more damage than a regular shot.

The hammers were real questionable, happened too fast for Herb to acknowledge, and the fight was waved.
