Dustin can win if he tires Conor out in a high paced fight.

Dustin was gassing hard against Hooker by the end of the 2nd. He was coming off hip surgery or whatever, but if he hasn't fixed this up he's not going to be able to make the most of a gassed Conor.
hooker gassed more, and dustin won, the pace was insane

He "can" win. I know. It's a tough task. A real tough matchup.

Conor has okay cardio, I'm not hatin'....but it's a tad questionable IMO. Maybe not one of his strongest attributes as an MMA fighter. Though, that was more of a thing we saw when Mcgregor fought Diaz at 170 and carried those extra pounds...

But anyway, I still think Porier's gas tank is a step above McGregor's. If Dustin can survive the first 2-3 rounds, play defense, and then push the pace without getting clipped with a big left...I like his chances in a back and forth fight in those later rounds.

Really turn it up in the championship rounds and turn this is into a gritty fight and make Mystic Mac work.. especially against the cage.

That being said....... McGregor by 2nd round TKO

P.S. - Haven't posted in a while. Hope all of my sherbros are staying healthy! We need more MMA!!!!!
Dustin can win by not being over emotional and making small mistakes. He was doing just fine in the first fight until he made a split second timing error taking a half step forward after drawing out the left hook he intended to duck under and counter with a right hook of his own.

If he doesn't take that half step before ducking under the left doesn't graze off the back of his head and he lands his counter right perfectly.

He did this same thing against MJ and got knocked out cold and since hasn't made that mistake again and his Boxing has looked much much better.

Also, Conor didn't "gas" in the first Nate fight because he packed on extra weight to make 168 since his own coach said he was 172 in the cage against Aldo, that was just more Conor marketing BS. He looked perfectly fine right up until Nate tagged him with that 1-2 and even mentioned how great he felt a minute and a half earlier between rounds.

A lot of people sleeping on Conor lately, some of y'all forget he's only lost one striking battle his whole career. That's against Diaz, a notoriously high level striker himself who, between his chin and his volume, is a nightmare match-up for Conor. If Conor hasn't lost a step yet, I expect him to ice poirier pretty quickly.

Conor didn't lose the Striking battle... he gassed HARD both times! Big Difference! In both fight Conor was lighting him up on the Feet Brah!! And I got much love for Diaz... but he's not a high level striker. He's a volume puncher like you mentioned... but that's far from being high level! The UFC Machine sold you that One! Conor, Izzy, Prime Silva & Prime Machida... now that's High level striking! On the flip side tough... all susceptible to Lay N Pray!

Dustin will go all in, from get go, and odds are on his side, later on if he tires, he will shoot a takedown.

Wonder who the ref will be for this fight ?

Dude... he was a walking corpse when that slow A$$ 1-2 Flushed him! He wasn't gassed... he was dead!! And looking back, it was his first fight without being able to re-hydrate with an IV, and I believe that's why he barely had 3 minutes in him that night! Just look @ his physique for the 2nd fight! He adjusted quite nicely by dropping a bunch of muscle since he knew Diaz would last 4-5 rounds.

Even the unfocused Conor who faced Khabib would demolish Poirier! Dustin's a solid fighter... but his movement is not fluid enough to roll off Conor's punches. And since he doesn't have a Diaz chin... eventually that precise shot will floor him! With Tony taking a step back... Khabib's the clear front runner of the division... with Conor @ a distant 2nd fallowed closely with DaBronx & Gaethje!

Yeah, except he wasn't at all. That fight wasn't even a high paced fight, especially compared to his kick heavy grappling heavy fight against Mendez.

He became a "walking corpse" after the 1-2 hit him but prior to that he looked exactly the same as he did in the previous 6.5 minutes. (I may rewatch the fight cause its been a while but I'm pretty sure I'm not wrong).

Of course his body looked better in the second fight since he had 6 months to back on muscle knowing he didn't have to go through an excruciating weight cut, the first fight he decided to make it at 170 6 or 7 days before so he would have already been working to be able to make the cut to 155.

Do you actually believe he had to "eat 3 steaks a day" just to make 168 and stepped into the cage at 168? If so you must also believe Nate stepped into the cage at 169 right cause why else would he have weighed in 2 pounds lighter than he had too...

Hooker gassed more because that's what he does when he starts taking damage, and I know Dustin won. That's not the point.

Go compare Dustin vs Max vs Dustin vs Hooker. The Max fight was a way higher pace than the Hooker fight, and Dustin was going harder and looking sharper right up until the end.

It would be dumb for Dustin to have a defensive gameplan. That would benefit Conor because Conor anticipates on people being defensive and above all stationary. Dustin needs to watch the Khabib vs Conor fights, Khabib kept moving to the point Conor made desperate superman strikes and Khabib utilised the counter punches.

When Conor sets up a left hook he leans heavily on his right leg, putting all his pressure on that leg. Dustin can utilise leg kicks to jeopardise and compensate that right leg.

All in all, Dustin has a good chance if he isn't stationary and backtracking. He should have discipline and don't fall for the bait of brawling, kick that right leg and exhaust Conor for the first two rounds. Then he can do what he wants as Dustin is more equipped to fight a 5 round fight
He won't have that discipline. He couldn't even keep that same discipline against khabib..he conceded.tne center to khabib rather quickly instead of staying discipline and fighting for the center. I don't see how he's going to suddenly be more disciplined against Conor than khabib.

Khabibs pressure is off the chart, he makes people gas out by chasing them. I think the secret to a victory is kicking Conors right leg, conor puts all his weight on that right leg, even when he faking a strike.

I think Conor's gonna teep kick him and zap his energy. I think what w/e Dustin does, Conor will adjust to just fine. Conor's the more discipline fighter. Dustin essentially said he wants to make it a brawl.

Dustin's camp must've read my comment. The leg kicks on Conor's right leg has paid off dividends
