Dustin can win if he tires Conor out in a high paced fight.

Dustin just has to avoid the left of Conor for the first 2 rounds. Not seeing it happening tho.

everyone has seen the holes in conors game and mental state when things dont go his way. no one should be surprised if dustin beats him. on paper he has the cardio and volume to easily beat conor. i think conor wins but i'm not 100% on that. imo he mismanaged his career in terms of avoiding unnecessary fights and unnecessary damage. his huge gaps in time off, the weight jumping , i just dont believe in the guy like i used to. coming up he was the guy most hardcore fans wanted to see- was doing everything perfect, following the right philosophies , had the right mindset, the embodiment of bruce lee mixed with everything that is wild and entertaining. but then there was a shift. ego took over in the wrong ways. bad decisions were made. he shifted his character to one that seems very weak , flawed and insecure. maybe he would have changed everyones mind with his planned 2020 run. curious to see how things go in 2021. 1 loss is all itll take to have people turn hard on him.

But anyway, I still think Porier's gas tank is a step above McGregor's.
A step above?? really? Just a small step??
Dude, McGregor has never shown any stamina, ever.

He wilts. He fades. He runs away.

This is a clip of him vs a journeyman called Nate Diaz. Irishman WALKS AWAY! exhausted.

Watch Poirier vs Holloway and vs Hooker, and then tell me he doesn't have superior cardio compared to Conor.

Conor hits hard for the first two rounds. But once his cardio goes in the 3rd, his power goes with it. And with that, his chances of KO go down astronomically.

If Dustin plays it smart in the first two rounds, he can easily take 3, 4, 5 for the win.

Can Dustin survive?

We're all gonna tune in and find out

The problem is Dustin will have to push the pace, but that requires engaging and Conor is dangerous to attack.

Dusting should cycle, move away side to side on his feet like Khabib did.
But Dustin has never shown the ability to do that.

Never tell an MMA fighter to cycle.

Anyone who puts any stock into the first fight is a moron. This fight is Dustin's to lose. He has the better skill set and has been through the gauntlet. If Connor doesn't get a quick KO he will quit.

This is a winnable fight for Dustin. His experience with skilled strikers has increased significantly. Win or lose he has gone against a lot a good fighters, when they were good(outside of Anthony Pettis). His fights with Gaethje, Alvarez, Hooker, and Holloway shows he’s a lot tougher than he used to be. Experienced, confident, and in his prime, it’s a good fight. Conor looks ready though. Right now, it’s 50/50 for me.

Dustin has been active and improving. I dont know if conor has been training hard or drinking on a yacht for years. But like i said Conor might tap him on the chin and he goes out. So hard one for me to call.
I think when you have a smart fighter vs a tough fighter, smarter fighter wins 9 times out of 10. I believe mcgregor is the smarter fighter. Whatever improvements Dustin made won't be enough to beat mcgregor. Just my opinion.

Conor fan, but also a dustin fan

I don't understand how or why people are writing dustin off like he's a nobody

Not an easy fight to call, but it seems even the worst conor haters are thinking dustin has no chance

Rewatched Dustin vs Hooker and if Dustin looks anything like that against Conor, hes gonna end up on the canvas face first.

DUstin can win if he doesn't get knocked the fuck out

I'm a big fan of Dustin , and I'll probably cheer for him, but I think Conor's style is a bit of a challenge for him. Was a big fan of Conor but some of his recent issues have dulled that shine.
That being said...I think conors cardio issues are a little overblown. Not saying it's great but it's not the huge glaring weakness some make it out to be. In the first diaz fight, he punched himself fighting a bit recklessly...in the second one, sure he looked pretty weeded, but lest we not forget he won the 4th round unanimously, threw 322 strikes and defended 6 out of 7 takedowns. Even against Khabib sure he wilted but as we saw against Dustin and Gaethje, that's what Khabibs style is going to do to you.

If Poirer fights more like he did against Holloway it's a more competitive fight, but if he fights like he did against Justin or Hooker I just see him getting hit too much. Poirer has great fundamentals and technical striking but he gets baited into too many firefights where his defense crumbles. Against a measured striker, that could be dangerous.

If Poirer fights measured himself, can work in some of his wrestling and maybe work some time against the fence I think he can win a decision.
I'm a little weary of the cumulative toll of the Gaethje, Alvarez, Holloway, Khabib, Hooker fights.

think Conor wins by KO within 3.

His best chance of winning is going on defense in the first few rounds. If he comes right at Conor he'll likely get sparked.
No way, Mcgregor loves to pressure. The key to Mcgregor is lateral movement. Khabib was great at that and never let mcgregor get set for a ocunter. You want to always be changing direction.

Half the reason he throws those stupid spin kicks is that he knows you will go a certain direction afterwards.

There's nothing dumber than the myth that Conor can't KO someone after round 2 because he failed to KO Khabib, Floyd, and Nate after round 2... who have 1 KO loss in their combined 111 fight record.

That was round 4. He's still a great striker who hits hard. It's the chin of his opponents he's faced past round 2 that was the issue.

And it's not an issue he's facing with Dustin.

Something most fans are missing is that Dustin didn't look impressive over hooker and him celebrating as if he looked good was cringe. He's never really flat out won against elite competition. It's always been a grit it out performance which shows heart but against elite of the elite fighters I'm not sure that matters.

Those wide karate stance fighters are tricky fighters to fight. Look at Wonderboy. Dustin is still not going to be use to Conor's style of entry imo

It would be dumb for Dustin to have a defensive gameplan. That would benefit Conor because Conor anticipates on people being defensive and above all stationary. Dustin needs to watch the Khabib vs Conor fights, Khabib kept moving to the point Conor made desperate superman strikes and Khabib utilised the counter punches.

When Conor sets up a left hook he leans heavily on his right leg, putting all his pressure on that leg. Dustin can utilise leg kicks to jeopardise and compensate that right leg.

All in all, Dustin has a good chance if he isn't stationary and backtracking. He should have discipline and don't fall for the bait of brawling, kick that right leg and exhaust Conor for the first two rounds. Then he can do what he wants as Dustin is more equipped to fight a 5 round fight
