Dustin’s way to beat Conor is trying spamming the takedowns and...

Conor could spark him out and it wouldn't be surprise to anyone. Dustin is durable, strong, a good striker and willing to trade. But when you mix that last part with his fight IQ issues and tendency to eat shots to land shots, it's a recipe for disaster early on.

He's part of a very diverse and intelligent camp. If they can put together a plan when he mixes it up, utilizes the clinch, presses Conor against the cage, shoots for takedowns and makes him work, he's got a chance. If he fights like he did against Hooker and Gaethje, it might be a quick night for Dustin.

Yep exactly. He will try to brawl like he always does and get knocked out. Dustin hasn’t used much of his grappling in a long time. And honestly even if he did Mcgregor has underrated grappling himself.

we will see if Connor didn't lose his speed and stamina due to partying lifestyle. Something tells me he did.

His best option is pressure on the feet (while trying not to get knocked out). Conor has cardio problems, especially when he is not setting the pace. If he leads the dance, he can go 4-5 rounds. Dustin shouldn't allow Conor to do that.

That's easier set than done. Conor is quite dangerous, especially in round 1 and 2, and now, unlike the first Nate fight, he is well aware of his cardio issues and will pace himself better.

On the other hand we don't know how much power Conor carries exactly at higher weight classes. Alvares was chinny, Cowboy is nearly done, Nate is not so much iron-chinned as he has insane recovery (he has been knocked down and TKOd in the past; Masvidal put a better beating on Nate than Conor did).

All in all very interesting bout, he'll see where both Conor and Dustin really stand.

Dustin wins via being more well rounded and having the depth of heart and cardio to drag Conor into deep water. This isn’t the same Dustin that Conor faced 6 years ago at 145, he has fought and beaten some of the best fighters in the world and found his home at 155. He is game for this and will prove a lot of doubters wrong. Feel free to bump this.
That's exactly how I see it. Love both fighters

Conor is only good for 2 strong rounds against equal level competition. If Dustin charges forward and swing for the fences he's an idiot.

This right here. Conor showed good grappling and TDD against Khabib, but small positional mistakes cost him. I think in a rematch he can beat Khabib this time
cheating 20 times in a fight = good TDD and grappling.

He showed nothing, Khabib never had 100 % takedown offense, actually he has less than 50 % takedowns ratio, defending one takedown doesn't mean shit against khabib, it means even less if u had to cheat to defend it ...

Dustin was killing himself with the weight cut to 145. He takes this fight and all you McNugget nut hangers will have your excuses ready just like after the Khabib fight.

Although tough, Dustin does have a tendency to get stunned in his fights and he’s does get hit around the head a lot.

The Hooker fight was a war and it remains to be seen whether that left its mark on him.

If he goes into this planning on settling the score in a boxing match, the fresher bigger hitting and accuracy of Conor will probably settle it in 2 rounds. But if he mixes it up and makes diminishing Conors gas tank a priority, then that’s his most likely path for victory.

Tire him out until round 3 where he can finish him otherwise it’s who ever connects on the button first! I think Conor might go to sleep this time around and I know I’m going against the popular belief here but Dustin became more of a man physically and gained more experience so I’m going with him to finish the Irishman! Who is your pick?
Bold pick. I like it. A bit iffy. But it would make me happy.

Also no guillotines. A failed attempt will exhaust. A failed attempt may result in conor mounting him. You don't want to be exhausted with conor on top of you.

Tire him out until round 3
I think it's a little bit of a myth that you can easily tire Conor out within two rounds.

You've only got one example of that, the first Diaz fight.

But you have at two examples of him winning later rounds
* In the Diaz rematch he was looking gassed in round 3, still came back to win the last two.
* Against Khabib he was on the floor for two rounds, still came back to win round 3.

Sure, he did gas and lose a lot of power in both those fights but all I'm saying is he's not at all guaranteed to lose every round after the second round.

How do you fail a guillotine so your opponent mounts you? Or do you mean Poirier is in danger if the fight hits the mat with Poirier under Conor? As in passes his guard, half guard to side control to mount? I don’t see it.

Anyway, I’m sure Dustin is sharpening his stand up a lot for this fight. Holloway had big trouble finding Poirier’s face with his hands, I think he even commented to his corner about Poirier’s guard making it tough to hit him.

Poirier needs to spar with a lot of southpaws that are looking to land that left, because he needs to be comfortable and very aware of the left (his right) side and everything that comes from there.

I’m sure his gym and trainers/coaches will be preparing him as good as it’s possible. This is a good fight.

I think horiguchi and friends can help him with the movement /footwork.
And yes his defence is actually decent. Max couldn't do shit to him.

This makee him less dangerous. Conor's speed, power and volume make him dangerous. He overwhelms you. If he paces himself, he loses his edge.

I don't think the fouls were of any actual relevance, other than being dirty. If you analyze the fight Conor did some impressive things in there.

Regardless of us not agreeing, it's undeniable that when Conor smokes Poirier that he deserves his title shot. If he doesn't get it because Khabib is retiring in his absolute prime then that is a shame

1- if u have any wrestling background, u know how impactful it is to grab someone's else short in wrestling ( grabbing gloves is even worse ), there's a reason it is major fault in wrestling ...

2 -Khabib had a perfect kimura on the second round, if it wasn't for the knee on the ground and the toes on the cage, it would ve been a wrap in a second round

3 - conor got dropped like a bum

4- Khabib retired because his father/died, indeed it is a shame, but ur idol was mocking khabib's father while he was dying

5 - if u have any form of objective thinking, just shut up.

Lmao Calling a former 2 division champ a bum and insulting a person you never met online? Ok we're done here

I tried to be polite, but all good. Have a nice day
