Tried these today because I wanted something to really hammer the quads. In reality it only hammered my patellar tendons and when the rack moved during one of the reps I nearly dumped the bar with 405lbs on it. Gonna stick to front squats.
 
I can't see the video so I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for, but I started my quest to lifting by doing the Rush Fit series that GSP put out. Although not dumb, just quite silly.

It’s an SSB squat where you, at the bottom, push your knees out way past your toes and come up on your toes like Tom Platz used to. Quads aren’t sore today but my knees are. Lesson learned.
 
took 10 years off my knee cartilage doing these for a summer:


and I used to dumb shit like this (with kettlebells) until I got a bulged disc in my neck.

I used to add a 2.5 to my right side benching because it went up faster
