I sued insurance once 10+ years ago and won. They dropped me too and I had trouble getting future insurance over it.

I hit a moose with my pickup and when I tried to collect, my insurance company told me they weren’t covering it because I had a lift kit. The dealer installed it. Anyways long story short, my lawyer went after them for charging me for coverage I wasn’t covered on. I got all the money I paid into insurance back which was slightly more than I paid for the repair.

It felt like a huge win until they dropped me and then when I tried to insure my shit with other companies, they declined me for no reason. Insurance companies are scum but I think they don’t play hardball as much with higher earning clients. If a retarded hillbilly can sue them and win, imagine what a dude with a 600k watch would do.

Dealing with consequences is only for people who don’t have money honestly. Your car insurance knows this which is why they will spit in your face.

That's about as bad as business gets but it's not really any different than the rest of these hide the ball games they play. I recall in a hurricane katrina docu, some guy saying there should be a special place in hell for insurance agents because they wriggled out of responsibility for homes and such. But, I was born jaded, expecting everyone to fuck me so nothing surprisese me.

I only know about insurane from the people I know who were sued, again, it just seems if you have anything worth suing for, someone will try. My mentor was sued twice as I mentioned but really, both of those were perfectly avoidable had he just been on the ball. One was an employee he fired but there was some issue in the time frame that he fired him and it ended up some sort of wrongful termination, it sounded like he waited too long to can the guy after an incident happened. The other time, he had a worker who maced a customer, but I had told him previous that he needed to handle that before it happened, not just me, the police were raising hell because of a checker who kept macing people indiscriminately. So, sometimes folks are there own worst enemies.

His insurance dropped him after the payout for the latter incident, he found another insurer but it was really academic at that point as his business was on it's way to failure.

Business is fucked, you get the smile and the fake niceness when they want something and you get excuses when things go the other way. But, ya know, that's not in our control. My brother is trying to get on welfare and get cash, it's going slow and he's getting frustrated, I just tell him how it is. He should have been looking after himself instead of eating himself into oblivion and ruining his ability to work. They're going to keep giving him the "oh, sure, you'll get it then" and fuck with him for awhile. Just the way it goes.

Higher earning clients don't waste money on insurance.

California doesn't require insurance on a vehicle, only that you have some sort of financial responsibility.

This can be in the form of liability insurance or a surety bond for the fair market value of the car.

The main reason for insurance for the little guy, is that in the event of a collision, the insurance company acts as your legal representative.

If you're rich you can hire an attorney, or if you're really rich, have one on retainer.
