Movies Dragonlord's Movie Adaptation Vol. 3: NAMOR: THE SUB-MARINER

you really outdid yourself here boss. Very enjoyable read.

Aquaman (DCCU) looks how I imagined Namor should look. I'm interested in both films.

Kind of unrelated but I really hate Marvel's push of the Inhumans. I hope they get stomped by the mutants in the upcoming Death of X event. However, considering the name, it's likely that won't happen

Karnak is the muthafreakin' MAN!

Great write-up, @Dragonlordxxxxx. You should try writing this up in screenplay format to see how it translates on paper. One of the issues I'm running into with my screenplay is that I wrote out a great story that follows the classic structure and formula, but when I go to write out all the dialogue and action sequences, it suddenly turns much too long, the equivalent of a 3-4 hour movie. Doing the same with your story will tell you if you can fit it into a 90-120 minute movie.

Keep up the great work and looking forward to more ideas from you.

Great stuff, DL. Is this going to be under Fox or Marvel? I don't know who has the licensing. Plus, one of Namor's claims to fame is that he is the first mutant and as far as I know, mutants have not been mentioned in MCU.

Edit: already answered
Thanks. Though Marvel Studios owns the rights, Namor will probably be in limbo for the foreseeable future. The studio will probably just wait till the Universal distribution rights expire.

9/10, would bang/wife.:)

Turning Namor's love into his(and Atlantis')greatest enemy is a particularly dark touch.

The only thing I'd change is the ending: instead of Vazan giving up the crown, I'd have Namor go Full Conan and strangle the bastard on the throne. This is how Conan became King of Aquilonia in Howard's original stories and it's a nice meta-homage; his people, the Cimmerians, are descended from the survivors of Atlantis. But that's a minor detail. It's a fantastic origin story, and I'm damn sure your version will shit all over DC Aquaman movie.
Namor strangling Vanzan at the end would be too dark and might be too upsetting for the general audience. But glad you liked it. Thanks and also for the suggestions.

Solid script, as usual @Dragonlordxxxxx
Thanks.

Reading the part about "Namor meets the asshole Prince Vanzan and his yes-man cousin Viscount Belarus." was a real page-turner. Even after that point, i'm still not sure as to who to root for
<{fry}>

Glad there was not that much humans, not everything has to be immediately connected with the rest of the cinematic universe
Hey, it's a truncated version. I had to get to the point. :)

Karnak has always been a favorite of mine among the Royal Family.

I haven't been reading Marvel for the past few years but that panel of Karnak and his line is very badass. Thanks for showing that.

Glad he's not dead. He seemed to have killed himself a few years ago when the whole Inhumanity angle first started.

Thanks and thanks for the tip. I already did time my movie and it's roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Thanks. For you, which is the better of my movie adaptation, Captain Marvel or Namor? I'm really curious.

I'm going with Namor. I'm far more familiar with the characters you used in the Captain Marvel one and this one was just as good. The only character I know is Namor himself. It's got to be more difficult to tell a story with less celebrated characters. Degree of difficulty was higher so I'd give the nod to Namor. Really enjoyed both of them though.

I always thought Karl Urban would've been a great Namor but he is a bit long in the tooth for it now.

Hiddleston has the look and douchiness down pat, but they already used him for a comic relief villain.

Meh, he'll probably show them when he gets tapped to be Bond.

Hiddletston would have made a sick Namor. But then we'd never have had the perfect Loki. Swings and roundabouts.

And I really hope he gets the Bond role. He's my number one pic.

What type of weapons do the Vanguard use? Because I'm imagining a Full Metal Jacket-type scene at Vanguard Boot Camp...

This is your Trident, this is your Gun!
This is for Killing, this is for Fun! :D

If I recall correctly, he has his own series in Marvel now. He's a total B@d$$$ and I like him because he could kill the "un-killable" Wolverine and Deadpool. I liked the movie but I can't stand the character.

Namor should be played by an asian actor because he always looked Asian
