Movies Dragonlord's Movie Adaptation Vol. 1: CAPTAIN MARVEL

@Dragonlordxxxxx

Awesome! Really good read. Would love to see Skrulls as the villains (didn't realize what Heavy said about who has the rights). I could visualize a lot of the scenes you constructed and I thought the flashback you had toward the end was definitely impacting. High quality.

Looks like you've really put a lot of work into this. Do you do any screenwriting on your own time, and with any original stories (i.e. not of existing franchises)?

We need a petition for marvel to hire DLX and give him creative control over all of their script writing.

Good story. Hopefully marvel comes up with something as good as this.

I missed the first one but this revision is great. There's some darkness to it. Some grit. I like grit. Punch you in the feels type grit.

Also love the choice for Captain Marvel. Strahovsky is perfect. Maybe the best part was the inclusion of Rick Jones. Ridiculous they haven't brought him in before now. He's everybody's sidekick for fuck's sake.

@Dragonlordxxxxx

I like it, it feels like it has a more serious tone similar to the parts of the 1st Iron Man and the Last 2ncap movies. The only thing that sucks is that Marvel doesn't own the Skrulls because of the Stupid FOX Fantastic 4 tie in , they would be so perfect for a villain for Captain Marvel Right off the bat and I like seeing the Kree mythos expanded on.
Thanks. And Marvel Studios co-owns the Skrulls rights with Fox.

Which Studio Owns the Rights to Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and the Skrulls

Avengers-Portrait-Dragonlord-1.jpg

"It's a little complicated," says Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige when asked about the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in a video interview with Hey U Guys at the European premiere of Avengers Assemble earlier today. "If they want to use them in an X-Men movie they could, if we want to use them in an Avengers movie we could." He also reveals that the same applies for the Skrulls (due to their connection to the Fantastic Four).

Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are the children of Magneto and originated in the X-Men line of comics as a part of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. This resulted in many fans reaching the assumption that they would never get a chance to appear in a future instalment of The Avengers. Thankfully, the door now seems wide open for Marvel Studios to bring them to the big screen.

Fiege also confirmed what was already known, that the Captain America sequel will be primarily set in the present day, but potentially with flashbacks. And he gave what's become his pat answer about the long-gestating Ant-Man movie: "It's as close as it's ever been. Edgar is getting excited to get behind the camera again and start some advanced prep work for Ant-Man. We are going to take some forward steps in a few months that will bring it closer than ever. In terms of release date, I don't know."

Thanks. I'm glad you loved the flashback scene because that's my favorite part of the revision. It's a risky move giving Carol a husband and a child but I think it paid off because it gave her a tragic history and a reason why for her animosity towards aliens.

somebody tried telling me that they used the Chitauri (sp?) for Avengers because they couldn't use the Skrulls. Said it like it was fact. I think with everything they tried to accomplish in that movie, shape-shifting beings would have been an overload for normal movie fans. The Normals as I think of them. Whedon has a pretty good sense for that. I'd love to see the Skrulls in the MCU. Captain Marvel is a perfect time to introduce them.

No, don't have any other "screenwriting" work besides this and Old Man Logan.

I just finished my Namor the Submariner movie 1 and 2 in my head. I'm pretty excited about sharing it here.

Could have used skrull from the period of time where they had lost their shapeshifting abilities. overload avoided.

Do it. subby is one of the best characters in the MCU.

Besides Carol's tragic past, I feel that the loss of the Exo Squad members will be also heartbreaking. My plot summary doesn't show it but the members will be very likable and memorable.

Yep. Weird how Marvel Studios hasn't introduced Rick Jones yet. Let's hope when they do introduce him, it's not going to be like Jimmy Olsen in BvS.

That's pretty cool man. I remember being huge into Dragonball Z years ago and I was working on this fanfic that was supposed to be better, and more accurate to the official timeline of events than other people's fanfics (no bullshit shipping of characters) but gave up on it because I couldn't go anywhere with it. I didn't own the rights to DBZ so I couldn't do anything with the story, no matter how much work I put into it.

You seem to have a knack for storytelling and visualizing things. You should consider coming up with something original that you can call your own. The screenplay I'm working on now is something I've been tossing around me head for the last 12 years or so. Built this entire world of characters in my head, and have this great story I want to tell. The screenplay is supposed to do a lot of world-building, and hopefully if the studios like my first screenplay, there's many more stories from that same world to follow.

Just think about it!

Thanks for the encouragement. Maybe I'll give it a try in the future. And good luck on your screenplay.

That's true but ultimately the Skrulls would have been wasted if they used them in Avengers 1 because it seemed like Whedon just wanted generic alien invaders with a hive mind system for the team to go up against.

Gotta say, @Dragonlordxxxxx, that was a mighty fine read.

Love that Rick Jones was included, as he has a deep history with the original Captain Mar-Vell. You also added Gyrich, who fits right in with the story you are telling (also, there is no one more fit for that role than Jack Coleman, good call there).

The Mar-Vell reveal also caught me off guard. Did not expect that, actually. I am not completely familiar with the character though, and not sure if that should have been expected or not.

Post credits scene was on point. Wondered if the Supreme Intelligence would show up at all.

All in all, I am wondering if you have ever tried to write an actual script before. This outline is pretty legit.

Well done. Would watch this movie.

Thank you, kind sir.

I have not really tried writing an actual script before.

Maybe you should consider it? It is obvious you have a knack for it. Very descriptive. Those action scenes were great, and I could picture exactly what you were trying to convey. I think you would do well. You're a natural writer.

@Dragonlordxxxxx I don't even care about the movie anymore you have ruined it for me Please someone on these forums be an exec for Disney or Marvel and get this movie made.
