SHEMAR MOORE as MIKE HANLON

I'll share my casting process for Shemar Moore as Mike.

At first it was David Oyelowo (5'9") and Derek Luke (5'10"). Great actors but the more I looked at their faces, the more I couldn't get over the fact that they don't look like the child actor Chosen Jacobs. There's a little similarity but I wasn't satisfied.

Another thing was Chosen Jacobs is a big kid and growing fast. Oyelowo and Luke are relatively small and short. So I needed someone that's taller, has a bigger build and looks like Chosen Jacobs. After an exhausting search, Shemar Moore won the role.

**TIE** ZACH BRAFF as RICHIE TOZIER (Age: 42)

The designated joker among the Losers Club, Richie grew up to become a successful disc jockey in the book. Finding the right actor to play the grown up Richie is a bit hard because the child actor, Finn Wolfhard, has a very distinct facial appearance. But I think Zach Braff nails the look and we know from his stint in Scrubs he can be funny.

**TIE** ASHTON KUTCHER as RICHIE TOZIER (Age: 39)

But if we're talking about an exact match looks-wise to Finn Wolfhard, from the sharp nose to the wide lips to the effeminate facial appearance, Ashton Kutcher is like an aged clone of the child actor. From That '70s Show to Dude, Where's My Car?, we know Ashton can do comedy.

Alternate for Richie: Andy Samberg (Brooklyn Nine-Nine)

I saw Zach Braff and INSTANTLY thought WIN. The looks and the sense of humor are PERFECT!

Then I saw Ashton Kutcher.

Seth Green needs to play as an adult in this chapter. He was kid in the original, and it would be a decent homage to it with him as an adult version of the character he played. Unless they changed his character all together. I kind of forget.

I still think he should show up.

Also, in the .00000034 chance Tim Curry makes an almost full recovery, it'd be cool to see him at least in a small cameo. Maybe not even know it's him until some behind the scenes reveal.

This post was so dead on. As for the ties I prefer the first choices listed in each. My only gripe is Shemar. No Librarian in the history of time has ever looked like that. He is way too pretty. I like Cuba Gooding Jr for it....light skin, ragged looking now perfect for a tormented character and I'm sure he is available.
