Haven't seen the critical darlings like Carol, Spotlight, The Danish Girl and others yet. Why, did you like Carol?

No, I didn't even know it was a movie until I saw the commercial

The critical love was creaming off the screen. I think I might have to give it a try. All that critical love, what am I missing out on.

THE REVENANT Topples STAR WARS on Friday for Fierce Weekend Battle

The-Revenant-DiCaprio-071715-Dragonlord.jpg

In a surprise upset, Leonardo DiCaprio took down the new Death Star at the Friday box office in North America.

The Revenant starring DiCaprio and directed by Alejandro G. Inarritu, beat Star Wars: The Force Awakens with $14.4 million from 3,375 theaters. Force Awakens, now in its fourth weekend, took in $10.7 million from 4,134 locations for a massive domestic total of $781.1 million.

It's the first time since Force Awakens opened on Dec. 18 that it hasn't come in No. 1.

The Revenant and Force Awakens are now in a dead heat for the weekend crown, with both films expected to gross in the $37 million-$38 million range. Some have Revenant narrowly winning; others show Force Awakens pulling ahead.

Either way, the results are a major victory for DiCaprio and Inarritu on the eve of Sunday's Golden Globes ceremony, where The Revenant is up for best picture, best director and best actor in the drama categories.

Maybe I'm too old but I never understood the love for Gambit.
During the late 80s, there were several new Marvel characters introduced that became very popular in the early 90s. Those characters were Venom, Carnage, Deadpool, Cable, Gambit and a few more. Didn't really like Venom, Carnage or Deadpool. I like Cable only after other writers took them out of Rob Liefeld's hands. Though I'm not a big fan, I like Chris Claremont's Gambit. I liked the idea of a thief, roguish X-Men. And I like his powers, not too powerful but useful in a scrap.

but still lol
After you watch The Forest, hope you'll share your thoughts about it in here.

THE FORCE AWAKENS Earns $33 Million Opening Day in China

Star-Wars-Knights-of-Ren-010916-Dragonlord.jpg

The Force has awoken in China. Disney and Lucasfilm's Star Wars: The Force Awakens made a stellar landing in the Middle Kingdom on Saturday, grossing an estimated $33 million to score the biggest Saturday opening of all time for any film, according to preliminary results released by Disney.

It's also the biggest opening day in history for the studio, as well as the second-biggest single-day gross of all time behind Furious 7 ($54.4 million), which debuted on a Sunday.

Other top opening-day grosses in China include Avengers: Age of Ultron ($29.2 million),Transformers: Age of Extinction ($27.4 million) and Terminator: Genisys ($26.7 million). Local fantasy adventure film Monster Hunt holds the record for the largest single-day debut by a Chinese film with $27.7 million (172 million Chinese yuan).

The J.J. Abrams-directed film has already surpassed Avatar to rank as the highest-grossing film ever in North America, not accounting for inflation. Sometime on Saturday it is expected to extend its lead in the history books, becoming the first film to ever cross the $800 million mark domestically.

This weekend, Force Awakens will also sail past the $1.669 billion grossed worldwide byJurassic World to become the No. 3 movie of all time behind Avatar ($2.78 billion) and Titanic($2.19 billion), not accounting for inflation.

STAR WARS Beats THE REVENANT in U.S., Storms China With Record $53M Debut

Star-Wars-Force-Awakens-Stormtroopers-011016-Dragonlord.jpg

J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens stayed atop the North American box office in its fourth weekend after finding itself in an unexpectedly close horse race with Alejandro G. Inarritu's The Revenant, which vastly overperformed in its nationwide expansion thanks in no small measure to Leonardo DiCaprio's star power.

Domestically, Force Awakens grossed $41.6 million from 4,134 theaters for a total $812 million (it's the first movie to ever cross $800 million in the U.S.).

The Revenant
— a bloody, bruising frontier epic — is a huge victory in grossing a better-than-expected $38 million from 3,375 locations on the eve of Sunday's Golden Globes ceremony, where the big-budget title is up for best picture, best director and best actor in the drama categories. In the U.S., 70 percent of the audience polled Friday night by CinemaScore said they turned out because of DiCaprio.

Force Awakens continued to make history in its fourth weekend, eclipsing the $1.669 billion grossed worldwide by Jurassic World to become the No. 3 title of all time behind Avatar ($2.78 billion) and Titanic ($2.19 billion) with $1.73 billion in ticket sales, not accounting for inflation. The victory was fueled by a rousing $53 million debut in China, the biggest Saturday-Sunday opening of all time in the Middle Kingdom.

Natalie Dormer-starrer The Forest came in on the higher end of expectations, opening to $13.1 million from 2,451 theaters to place No. 4.
