Dragon Ball vs Dragon Ball Z

Dragonball is way better than DBZ. I rewatched both as a young adult and to be honest DBZ turned to shit after the Frieza arc.

Dragonball had much better fights, better comedy, and a much much better story behind each arc

Not even about "much better"
Dragonball HAVE a story :icon_chee

Thread implosion in 3, 2, 1.....

Someone explain to me why Vegeta wasn't a fail. Seriously.

Yes and I blame DBZ writers for him being a fail but he was indeed a fail

Always the bridesmaid but never the bride is Vegeta.

As some said, they haven't rewatched DBZ since they was kids.

Just rewatch it as an adult. It falls apart completely after in the Frieza arc. The fights get stale and the story at this point is horrible.

I mean Androids stronger than Super Saiyans? Lol come on GTFO

Well they're only stronger than SSJ1 after that it's not even close.

Vegeta was a joke of a character.

This is where example imho OnePiece is doing a good job with Zoro

A lot is about being crew vs crew and differentiate roles (Luffy take the boss with fruit powers, Zoro the 2nd best that usually use a sword, Sanji get the 3rd hand-to-hand dude), so as much Zoro is destined* to be the eternal 2nd, you have not dat Vegeta-loser feeling

Zoro is specialized and different, and sometimes the fact that Luffy is ever the one to bring down the boss seem more than else due fruit special powers

Vegeta is destined to play every time Apollo Creed vs Drago :icon_chee
He do what Goku do, just less good
He fight the same enemies, he's just destined to lose because is Goku that must beat them

I agree with you, kinda sad life :icon_chee

But must be said that DB was the first of his kind, after productions take advantage learning from it's "errors"
Example see everyone like Vegeta more than Goku, and now you have series where the sidekick characters are threated almost as good as the main dude

*it was cool if they even make Zoro better than Luffy at fight, since at the end they can push on Luffy other quality as Captain (charisma, will, attitude, sense of adventure etc), where Zoro is the pure fighter of the crew.
And sometimes they even give hint of Zoro super badassery, but let's be real: japanese will never full pass that line

Exactly! But not even that what makes Vegeta such a fail. Zoro never gets the final kill on the main guy but Zoro has had some badass moments which change the tide for the straw hats. So many I can't even name them all without a wall of text.

But what did Vegeta do the whole time? Really nothing to be honest. Yes he killed Zarbon and Dedeira but Goku would have killed them with one hand behind his back when he got to Namek. Yes Vegeta killed the weak Android thing. Once again. No threat.

Every big event Vegeta failed. Literally everytime.

here is a short list on why Vegeta was a fail character:

Got his ass beat by Zarbon

Got his ass beat by Recomme (ginyu force guy) the same guy Goku one shotted lol

Was completely insignificant in the Frieza fight.

Got his arm broke by Android 18

Had a chance to BEAT CELL! But then let him absorb 18, then he got his ass kicked. One of his biggest fails ever. How can you be cocky like that and get owned. Hilarious!

Allowed Trunks to be killed by Cell

Performed a Chouzu against Fat Buu. A fail sacrifice lol

Got his ass kicked by Kid Buu

And remember the Broly movie? Where he was a coward who was scared of Broly and was sobbing like a little girl? Then he went to fight Broly and got one shotted!

Seriously. Look at this. And this is the short handed version. How can anyone claim Vegeta was badass!? He was a fail

Was completely insignificant in the Frieza fight.

Tbf..almost everyone was insignificant against Frieza. Goku had to go SSJ just to beat him.

Got his arm broke by Android 18
Vegeta was at the time more powerful than Goku and he saved his ass from getting killed from Android 19. Android 16, 17, and 18 were more powerfull and didn't know abou them. All of the Z heroes would have got there ass (and Piccolo, Trunks, Tien, Yamacha did get their ass kicks) against them. When they went into the Time chamber they would have kicked thier asses until cell came along.

Ok I agree with you on this one bro. THAT WAS A COMPLETE FAIL. f'ing ego man lol.

Allowed Trunks to be killed by Cell

That's really no one fault. Cell came out of nowhere and blasted Trunks. Plus Vegeta went ape shit after seeing his son shot. If anything it's Gohans fault for not killing Cell when Goku told him too. Now he came back Super Perfect Cell lol.

Performed a Chouzu against Fat Buu. A fail sacrifice lol

He didn't know that wouldn't kill him though. I mean it took ever living being in the universe to create a spirit bomb to kill Buu lol.

Got his ass kicked by Kid Buu

Everyone got their ass kicked by Kid Buu. Goku couldn't even beat him. However he was going toe toe with him until he started to get tired. Vegeta was a hell of a man to jump in and take an ass beating while Goku was recovering.

1- Had a chance to BEAT CELL! But then let him absorb 18, then he got his ass kicked. One of his biggest fails ever. How can you be cocky like that and get owned. Hilarious!

2- Seriously. Look at this. And this is the short handed version. How can anyone claim Vegeta was badass!? He was a fail

1- Specially considering his long list of successes :icon_chee

2- Nah, the character itself IS badass
The design specially back in the time was cool
The crazy hair (before everybody become sayan was the only to have that), the fact that was short and still waaay more powerful than his huge wrestler looking allie, the ever pissed face.
The attitude aggressive, arrogant, cold, even cruel at beginning.
Was all you wanted for a badass back when Goku as attitude was one big baby

Is not the character, is the story structure where was stuck
The story wanted use him everytime as punchbag to show how awesomeinvincible is the new enemy, before Goku arrive and win all by being the hero in a japanese anime :icon_chee

Is what i'm saying about DB being the first, after seen how a side-character can get his own audience, the series arrived after DB started give side characters theyr moment of glory

Damn too much text to reply to haha. Im at work guys slow down haha

My problem with Vegeta is that he was just a failure. He reminds me of the guy who talks tons of shit and doesn't back it up. It is truly tragic. It's sucks that they made his character the guy who gets his ass kicked but...he generally got his ass kicked all the time. And never got one series changing kill.

Didn't he kill someone in the Freiza saga? And he killed Android 19. But your right. His kill to loss ratio is horrible lol.

He killed Zarbon and Deidera or whatever but lets be honest. He was destroyed by Reccomme who Goku one shotted.

Goku would have killed Zarbon and Deidera together with one hand tied behind his back

(sorry I am butchering these guys' names haha)
