His wife has responded to the "banning", based on her post I'd say that he has probably not committed murder atleast.

My point is, that's not a typical ban on Twitch. Especially for a channel as large as his. That's a "this guy did something so bad, that we don't want to be affiliated in any way with him, past present or future"

Someone came to Twitch and was like, this guy did something/is doing something hella bad and they immediately cut ties. Certainly above the normal infraction/moderation type of bans.

Rumor is it could have come discord because they've also cut ties with him as well.

A lot of people have cheated on their wives, it's not the same as being a murderer/rapist though. However it's possible that she would stick with him through an (unconfirmed) allegation of sexual abuse. If it was as bad as some people are speculating though, she would have probably cut her ties instantly.

I'd say there's about as big of a chance that this is about money, as it is about DrDisrespect committing a heinous crime. We legitimately don't know shit right now.

The reason why I think that it might be an allegation of crime, is because I wouldn't think that Twitch are so blind to the optics of banning this guy outright, just because they have some disagreements about finances.

That seems like a giant investment and ultimately a waste of money. Maybe if you got all the top streamers together to create a new platform it could work. The top dogs probably have massive egos and wouldn't be able to come to agreeable terms. Twitch is huge and people stay there no matter who leaves. Just look at how much Ninja's viewership went down going from Twitch to Mixer and Mixer had Microsoft money (and stupidity) behind it.

Seems like it, but it's better than being potentially jobless and out of options after violating the terms of service.

It wouldn't even need to be huge, just something that keeps him out there in people's minds. Look at a guy like Alex Jones, who's still hanging around despite being banned from literally everywhere. Somehow he's still making a profit.

Maybe he got swatted, and decided it wasn't worth it anymore and requested they wipe his channel.

lol, I feel the same way. I have literally never watched even one second of Twitch before, and as for this Dr Disrespect fellow l am only passingly aware of his existence because I think @Madmick made a thread about him maybe two or three years ago.

But I love a good mystery, so for now I’m really interested, though once the facts come out I’ll likely stop caring completely again.

This goes along with a post I saw about a "twitch employee posting anonymous" that the lady that Doc allegedly had the affair with was a somewhat prominent female streamer that now wants a better deal with twitch and will 'come forward'. Twitch refused, banned Doc, and is now waiting for the female streamer to do whatever.

Doc had some/all of his sponsorships cancelled in order to be 'reworked'.
