We've seen this story countless times in combat sports. A fighter is getting old but his skills have continued to grow while his body is breaking down and is no longer the same. Some of these guys are able to max out in the end where the stars align, but then after that there is a quick fall from grace.

Belal hate is insane. Dude was keeping up on the feet with Ian the whole fight. He’s just too old and clearly out of his prime.

This. He is 37. Not every fighter can keep it up to 40. Not everyone is Poatan, Teixiera or Randy. For everyone one of them you have a Chuck, Fedor and Usman for example, all of who were cooked by that age. Yes they could still eek out a win alongside their losses but their championship prime days were gone.
