This fight surprise, not because it is intriguing.

Because JDS is still fighting, I fear for his health.

But looking forward to this.

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion vs. Former WSOF Heavyweight Champion.

JDS vs. Blagoi Ivanov

I think JDS' decline is a bit overrated, he hasn't nearly been KOed as many times as Arlovski or Overeem. He lost his last fight but in the fight before that, he won decisively over Rothwell who had just beaten Overeem and Barnett.

Senior of the Saints still has something left!

You should worry for Ivanov health, he is going to take a beating.

Had a dream JDS got KO'd

So weird how old JDS seems to be post Cain beatings. What a tough ass MotherFucker. JDS rules.

JDS only lost to:
Velasquez
Stipe
Overeem

It´s not like he´s losing to cans, you know. I still think he´s a terrible match up for a lot of guys in the division.

Rooting for Ivanov in this one, JDS did not look good lately, obviously all the L he has are against the Elite of HW, bu i think that we can make a case with a promising young HW like Ivanov

JDS is fighting for more than money. He recently lost his mother in a freak accident and is now trying to support his entire family. A heartbreaking story for sure, but perhaps he can continue to fight in order to make a better living for his family

And the Overeem fight was a shit stoppage.
I liked your post and came to say that I agree with you. I was gonna say that JDS was "definetely on his way up". Then I went to watch the KO again.... now I´m not so sure if the stoppage was premature. It looks like he was badly hurt really, because the punch landed clean on the chin. Take a look again, what do you think?

Technically, that's only in the UFC. But anyway, I agree with your point. He could still make waves. Ya never know.

Imagine JDS in Japan or Russia.

TRT-JDS.

Cut him Dana.. let him fly.

JDS won me over as a fan so I will most likely back him. Ivanov, however holds interesting stock (fun record) as a UFC entry.

As usual I'm in!

I have no problem with that stoppage.

I still think it was early, but then again I''d love to see soccer kicks brought back into MMA so maybe my Just Bleed rating is pretty high.

He was definitely a bit rocked and perhaps may not have recovered but I think at the sport's highest level like that you got to let the guys come to a definitive finish. How many times have we seen Overeem hurt a guy only for that guy to knock him out 30 seconds later? How good would the sport be if we just stop every fight when a guy gets hurt and we don't allow for any heroic comebacks? Many of the best fights in MMA history have been comebacks like that. It's also a standard that the other big combat sport (boxing) is seemingly exempt from. There aren't nearly as many early stoppages in boxing, though it still happens. Kovalev-Ward 2 for what I remember was a pretty early stoppage (especially being a repeated nutshot knockout) and the furor over that early stoppage would have been wayyyyy worse if it was Ward that was the one getting prematurely stopped. But generally boxing let's the fighters definitively finish the fight. The refs rarely call a fight over unless he's been knocked out down multiple times or he can't make the count. In MMA it seems more arbitrary.

Though I will say, it does depend on what the ref saw. In the videos I've seen I can't really see JDS's face and eyes that close up. Perhaps he was totally out of it, but I don't think so.
