Donald Trump is still bitching about the NFL, urges fans to boycott

I disagree....They went against the grain...They kneel before the Anthem...The Media will pick this up and respect them for how they did it....BLM/Cowboys are gonna benefit from this.

Cowboys are always at the cutting edge....thinking outside the box.

Like when they signed Greg Hardy

If they want to kneel before the anthem and then rise and stand for the anthem, that's fine.

I assume the kneeling was a protest against the police and racism. I disagree that policeand racism are the biggest problem for the urban black community. I think the black community is their own biggest enemy and problem.
Short sighted as always. Never change.

Beautiful...Makes me proud of being a cowboys fan...Once again we are ahead of the league...instead of disrespecting, we showed unity...Truly amazing.

This is why, they are America's Team.

Tweet from yesterday:

They sure got him!

I thought this thing but then a row of braindamaged ballchasers sat on the grass and now I think differently

There are more Steelers fans than Cowboys fans.

Yes! Now this is real news!!

"Activism" has jumped the shark.

I'm glad the Cowboys found a way to respect the nation and show America's unity. We should celebrate this, it's what our country is founded on. It's not that black people are all being murdered by police, or that all police are racist. People want some accountability for cops. We have the right to bear arms, and that means we have the responsibility to be very aware of our laws and our law enforcement. Everyone is so against having the conversation of racism and what it is, that we just end up with extremists on polar opposite sides.

Unity is what we need, we need an open dialogue.

they cant protest anything but the biggest problem?

The cowboys believe in on the field performance...what happens in your home, is your problem.

Arn't the right wingers always saying that people shouldn't be fired for what happens outside the work place?

I just want to watch some football.
A little break from the political world.
A little break from real life.

Trump bringing it up just made the whole situation worse.

Hey.... as long as you were cool with having a woman beater on your team... I'm not going to judge you.

And not the slap the shit out of you or shake the shit out of you type. More like if someone just slapped your momma type of ass whipping.

They can.

I'm just saying that the best way to see results is to work within the black community itself. Always marching against cops is not gonna change your situation. Change yourself and your own community, that's how you will see real change. The cops could be perfect and they could still have the same problems.

I wouldn’t say 1/5 ofnthe budget is nothing. If you do, then that’s fine. It’s a judgment call. I see 20% spent or not spent as something that’s still very significant, especially when you are talking about a budget in the trillions.

We're not talking about 20%, though, because no president would want to or be able to push a total elimination of non-defense discretionary or huge growth in it. The actual high-to-low range of the total budget is probably something like 1% of the budget, which is still a lot, but not something you'd even notice compared to other fluctuations, caused by economic growth or demographic changes, for example. It just doesn't make sense to discuss gov't spending levels as part of the president's job.

Can you explain what you mean?

Of course! The current culture and problems African Americans face are the symptoms of a long history of racim. Affirmative action was a foolish band-aid meant to be an excuse for what's been done over our history without making a real attempt at rebuilding what was destroyed. The war on drugs has specifically targeted and had an absolutely devastating impact on the black communities. The culture of sports and entertainment that you probably attribute to black people were funded and promoted by old white men. I'm not saying that with guilt, I'm saying it as fact because those people would be just as quick to turn it on whatever they label as less than themselves if it means profit and control. It's more than race, these people are Americans and have been targeted and basically left to fend for themselves after being stripped of the connections and resources that other minorities rely on to really thrive in America.

What you and so many others are doing is seeing the symptoms of a disease and thinking it's the cause. You are absolutely right that we ALL have self responsibility and should be accountable for our own lives. But you have to look at the bigger picture, historically culturally and with the law, to have a real understanding of the problems we ALL face.

Racim has not, until recently, been as obvious as the past. It's been apathetic ignorance and knee jerk defensive reactions that have kept the conversation from taking place for so many. It's a very complicated issue that doesn't go away overnight like so many seem to expect. It's actually something we must always be aware and active in preventing.

I agree with some of that.

But at some point, you've got to overcome.
