i agree on certain aspects.

MM has a more well rounded and proven ground game. Cruz has shown he can get if to the mat but dosnt do to much there.



all in all i would say Mm has more skills but i agree cruz should be higher on the P4p because we have seen them fight and Dominick got the better of MM.

Cruz has a ton of split decision wins that could have gone either way. That to me say's he's not a dominant champion. People are high on cruz now. And he looked good against faber in his last fight but before that, he normally scrapes by with wins. He scraped by wins against benevidez, barely beat faber in their 2nd fight. I have never been impressed with cruz' moving constantly and barely winning fights.

If MM was bigger he would have to carry more weight, and the signal from his brain to his limbs would have longer distance. Not to mention that his muscles would've been formed differently.

I disagree. Mighty Mouse gave him a very tough and competitive fight five or six years ago, and that was before he became the P4P great we all know today. Mighty Mouse didn't need all that much improvement to beat the Cruz that he lost to. I'm sure Cruz has improved some, too, but not to the degree that Mighty Mouse has.

Good thing about 125lbs is the vast majority of fighters in that class actually used to fight at 135lbs, so we get a good gauge for who is actually the best fighter across weight classes.

Literally nothing happened in their fight showed that Cruz has better skills, just used his size advantage and overpowered him with spamming TD attempts.

People are forgetting that DJ is even a small Flyweight, let alone fighting against a huge Bantamweight.

It makes a million times more sense with MM then it did with Conor. MM cleaned out his division. Hell he has two fights scheduled upcoming. One against Reis and one against the TUF winner. That has never happened before. The UFC us basically saying "hey Reis you're a sacrificial lamb." As soon as he sets the title defense record(which he stated was his major goal) he'll move up I'll bet.

It's not that simple.

If Cruz was smaller he would also be faster and more elusive. And still have his biggest strength which is his mind, movement, strategy.

We can't really say who would win if they were the same size. But they have fought at the same weight division and cruz did beat him. There isn't a very big disparity in their weight either.

Well, DJ was eating to make weight. He was only fighting there because the UFC the didn't have a Flyweight division at the time. Same for Joseph Benevidez. Both guys were clearly Flyweights. & Cruz dropped down from FW. Both are skilled, but when both fighters are skilled, size and strength come into play. The bigger wrestler outwrestled the smaller wrestler.

Of course Cruz is the better fighter and should be ranked above in a p4p discussion. He lost just once in his whole career(and avenged twice that loss),he's fighting in a much more stacked division,he beat Johnson when they faced each other and is still one of the top p4p guys after basically 4 years of injuries. It's hard to top that when you're defending your title against Wilson Reis,Moraga,Cariaso and Cejudo.
