Right now I'm mostly waiting for my schedule to settle. Once I know I can dedicate the proper time (to either breed) I'll make a decision and pull the trigger. My last 2 dogs were French Mastiffs and one was a rescue. I feel I need a puppy this time so the timing needs to be perfect (I'll probably get 2 heelers or 1 Boerboel)

Haha that's alot of dogs. I currently have an English mastiff...as you know much easier work than heelers. One trick I used for the heeler was a tennis ball on some string tied to other side of the door. He'd spend ages playing with that if his runs weren't long enough to tire him out

I know a guy who has Australian Shepards and he recommends having 2 if your getting puppies. That way they can keep ea. other company when I am at work. If I get the Boerboel, I'll probably just get one.

The last of my pack of dogs died on Monday. My house feels empty now. I immediately went out to get new dogs but there were none that I really clicked with. This sucks, mainly because I don't have anywhere to share this but here...

Give it some time. There will be more dogs that you click with. If you lose a close friend you can't find another one so quick, right? These things take time. But it'll happen. Thankfully with dogs you don't have to go through layers and layers of bullshit like you do with people before you bond (maybe that's just MY problem, but anyway...), so I promise you that by this time next year you'll have all the best dog friends you want.

Check out your local shelters and pound, bro. There's an animal there that would love to be your new friend.

I've had dogs all my life and I couldn't imagine not having at least one for the rest of the life.

That looks like a cool dog. All I've had so far are terriers.

Diverse group of dogs. A pretty rare terrier breed that I've always found interesting is the Glenn of Imaal Terrier.

Look for a shelter dog. I feel bad that many have to be euthanized. You can save a life.

Have you looked at rescuing a greyhound? That will probably be my next dog. I have a white Shepard now and she's awesome

I have a bud who's rescued 2 Greyhounds and he swears by them.

There is something about that breed that I just love, they always seem like such sweethearts. Plus they are essentially superathletes.
