AT this point, even left leaning outlets are reporting the amounts saved by cuts and waste found. CNN was talking about it today concerning renegotiated vendor contracts and NGOs getting exposed. Not sure it can be denied anymore.

Clearly you have never heard of the money multiplier effect. Giving people $5000 to spend would have an enormous impact on the money supply, and it would far outweigh cuts in spending (which also have a multiplier effect, but to a far smaller degree than increasing consumer spending power).
