It was never about waste. It was about gutting regulatory agencies, shutting down investigations into Elon, stealing all of the data from programs like social security, and backdooring the shit out of government systems for future nefarious uses.It’s not even cutting spending that’s the real issue imo, it’s the fact that we don’t make the wealthy pay their fair share, and we don’t do anything to end the buy/borrow/die cycle that the wealthy use to avoid capital gains tax.
I’ve said this before, but if DOGE truly wanted to eliminate 2 trillion in waste, they could’ve basically hit that target by doing what I said above. Economists have estimated that the wealthy wriggle their way out of paying a total of 1.8 trillion dollars every year. Some modest spending cuts could be fine, but we can’t cut our way out of this.
And killing any humanitarian programs like US Aid in the process.
Elon did less work on waste management than Tony Soprano.
