Last post since I want to stop wasting my time on replying to someone who can't understand anything: I wasn't replying to the OP, I was replying to another poster who made an incorrect claim. I'll even lay it out. I responded to this post:I mean, if you posted relevant sources with data that backed up the premise of the thread, I wouldn't ignore it.
But alas, no one can actually provide anything that remotely verifies the claim.
Only that it's possibly a secret Israeli plot to depress the births in Gaza through... willful use of contraceptives?
Or it's some unverified slush fund just because why not make shit up when you've been provided no actual evidence for the claim.
The second line is completely incorrect. I provided a source showing that is incorrect. That was made in:because it's not true.
USAID has $50M in total for family planning services globally.
but everything is possible when you just make shit up! terrorists are using condoms to throw bombs! mexicans are throwing drugs over the wall and hitting innocent bystanders in the head! haitians are eating everyone's pets!
Of which you can find the individual countries and the global $96.5 million in funding in the same link. Since the original poster cannot determine how that $96.5 million is being spent, he also cannot claim that its "not true", because he doesn't know. If he has a source for how that $96.5 million is being spent and it shows it ISN'T being spent on Gaza, then post it. Otherwise, you cannot claim it isn't true. You aren't confusing the global budget (funds allocated for global purposes rather than individual countries) with each country's allocated budget by any chance, are you?
Their FY 2025 budget shows WAY more than $50 million. You can check for yourself, I just searched for Family Planning and added it all up in their official foreign operations release: https://www.usaid.gov/sites/default/files/2024-03/State-and-USAID-Appendix-2.pdf . We also have no idea what they were planning for FY 2026.
Angola: Family Planning and Reproductive Health ($11.0 million)
Benin: Family Planning and Reproductive Health ($12.0 million)
Burkina Faso: Family Planning and Reproductive Health ($12.0 million)
Burundi: Family Planning and Reproductive Health ($11.0 million)
Cote d'Ivoire: Family Planning and Reproductive Health ($12.0 million)
Congo: Family Planning and Reproductive Health ($20.0 million)
Ethiopia: Family Planning and Reproductive Health ($23.5 million)
Ghana: Family Planning and Reproductive Health ($13.5 million)
etc. etc. Just CTRL+F Family Planning and Reproductive Health and you will find all the countries. Feel free to add them up yourself, it looks to be in the range of $500 million to a $1 billion.
He also asked my opinion:
Of which I provided a possibility:you think it is in fact true that they sent 50 million worth of condoms to gaza?
even if the global amount for family planning services more than doubled from 145 million to 300 million, you think they spent 1/6th of that on condoms for gaza?
or is the more likely explanation that the white house is completely and utterly full of shit about this?
What part of "I also don't think it's impossible" makes my statement authoritative and requiring a source?I also don't think it's impossible for AIPAC to have pushed for funding contraceptives for Gaza to prevent them from having children, to make their ethnic cleansing of Gaza easier and to have less Gazans to deal with in the future. I think that is possible and could be done under the guise of helping Gaza while serving the interests of Israel (a win-win for the largely AIPAC controlled US government). It's impossible to know without actual transparency in how the money is being spent.
I've already said I don't quite believe the original claim (although it is still possible):
It's likely it's more generic than just condoms, but a complete waste of money nonetheless. We already send hundreds of millions for "family planning and reproductive health", although the only tangible thing I can find in there is contraceptives.

Also, why aren't you asking for sources from @randomg1t? Why are you only asking for sources from me on possibilities I am speculating about (which he directly asked me for) and things I already qualified that I don't agree with? Rather than the authoritative statements that @randomg1t is making that I have shown with official USAID data to be false?
You will be returning to my ignore list so I don't have to waste another 5 minutes of my time on your shit, low-quality posts. If they're even made in good faith and you're not just a dumb troll.
And if you are just a troll, note that I am not feeding you, I am simply using you as a springboard to show actual good faith posters on the forum the truth of the situation. But I wont make the mistake that you are worth spending any time on again.
