Rule of thumb is that a movie has to make twice its budget to break even so a box office of ~4x the budget is a comfortable profit. It has great numbers. $324M box office for a $78M budget.

It's more impressive in this case than it would be for a typical movie. Look at the production value. It's clear not much of the budget went for promotion.Rule of thumb is that a movie has to make twice its budget to break even so a box office of ~4x the budget is a comfortable profit.
It's returning to theaters on January 17

Cmon they’re not even comparableDidn't Inside Out 2 come in 2024?
Cmon they’re not even comparable
While "The Wild Robot" is widely considered a strong contender for the "Best Animated Feature" Oscar, its chances of being nominated for "Best Picture" are considered slim, as the Academy often has a bias against animated films, even when critically acclaimed; however, some critics believe its high quality could potentially break that barrier and earn a Best Picture nomination, particularly given its positive reception and strong critical reviews.
The fact it’s getting a rerelease right before the Oscar’s further boosts its chances for Best Picture overall imo. Perhaps that’s another way of making movies work without a huge marketing push. Release the movie twice and let the buzz develop from the first release. The plot is somewhat original and the best way for me to describe it is Ex Machina meets Charlottes Web. The character development in this film is better than anything put out in 2024 imho.
I got blazed before watching this w the kids not anticipating the depth of the film. I actually found myself getting emotional on several occasions….the animation is next level and aesthetically pleasing
I highly recommend the film even for those who dislike cartoon movies
By a milewas it better than the iron giant? i loved that movie.
it’s not gonna get nominated for best picture.
Flow looks great. been waiting for a high quality torrent (last time i checked the screenshots left a lot to be desired)LoL this piece of crab couldnt even win Best Animated Film at the frickin Golden Globes, it lost out to something called Flow which I never even heard of, and you want it to take the big prize at the Oscars
