Does the UFC really need criminals headlining UFC White House?

Dude I think you just don't get it. We're going from 500K ppv in a niche audience to complete attention from America and the whole world. This is a big step and if they headline Jones or McGregor they're going to get ripped to shreds.

I don't get it. What's the worst case scenario? Main stream media attacks MMA and the White House, and then? People who didn't watch will boycott it? Sponsors will run away? Fans will turn off the product?

It's not a good look, I'll admit.

Honestly, they should just do a #PowerSlap event instead of UFC. MMA is full of drug addicts, criminals, and gay porn stars. That's perfectly fine, no judgement. But is that really who we want representing the American People? I don't think so.

Power Slap competitors though, totally different story. These are stand-up guys. Hardworking, disciplined, and they love this country. They respect law and order. Some of the best people, really.

I mean, the heavyweight champion has a law degree. Very smart. Very strong. Disciplined. And he’s defending his title tomorrow night at #PowerSlap14, 6PM in LAX, 9PM TDot, live and FREE on YouTube. That’s a beautiful thing.

Some people are calling him the Fedor Emelianenko of slap fighting. That’s a big deal. You’re not gonna want to miss it. It’s gonna be HUGE.

I don't get this mindset. If I don't like a sport, I'm not going to watch it now because it's on the White House lawn, hundreds of millions of people aren't going to tune into this. It's just a massive money grab for Trump and Dana and their buddies.

It's a horrible look, but Powerslap would be even worse.

I don't know if you're from the US but anything out of the ordinary that happens on the White House lawn is going to be HEAVILY scrutinized. Americans view that property as their property, as they should.

It's going to be free for anyone who wants to tune in. It would be illegal to charge for watching it

Tbf Carter had his buddy musicians do a hippy concert on the White House lawn and his son later got high on the roof with Willie Nelson. That didn’t seem to ruffle any feathers…

President Jimmy Carter was famously friends with several musicians while in office, including country performer Willie Nelson. In 1980, Nelson, a well-known pot smoker, visited the White House for a concert in the Rose Garden and somehow managed to get high atop the presidential residence afterward. The musician wrote in his memoir, “Sitting on the roof of the White House in Washington, D.C., late at night with a beer in one hand and a fat Austin Torpedo in the other, I drifted into a reflective mood. Nobody from the Secret Service was watching us — or if they were, it was with the intention of keeping us out of trouble instead of getting us into it.”

Nelson was apparently not alone — Chip Carter, President Carter’s son, accompanied Nelson that night. In the memoir, Nelson reflected on his journey to that moment, noting, “I let the weed cover me with a pleasing cloud and reflected on what a long, strange trip it had been from smoking cedar bark and grapevine at the age of 4 or 5 … to sitting on the roof of the White House sharing a number in the warm, humid night.”

I'm not against it. I'm for it but there's a right way to do it. What could happen if the general consensus of the American people is that it's an exclusive event featuring highly unsavory characters in the people's house? A lot can happen and it wouldn't be good for the current regime or the sport of mma

The company is run by someone who smacked his wife around in public and suffered zero consequences, plus you got a criminal living in the Whitehouse, so why not

You mean the guy who was friends with Diddy, Epstein and Kim Jung Un? What makes you think he would put up with Jon and Conor's shenanigans ?!

which guy? there is a lot of guys friends with those guys.

Not really. There is no greater disgrace to his office than the current president. Not at any point in American history, ever.

The fact that this is happening at all will be mocked relentlessly, the people headlining the card are basically meaningless.

I’m still very skeptical that this will ever happen. Remember when Dana said they had an island and were going to have fights on the beach?

I agree. I'm saying they should feature the best stories they have, not the worst. maybe they can pull it off.

Billy Beer was good. Trump Steaks are shit. You have to know your market

Thanks for bringing this up Captain. These criminals, these f****** clowns, these abusive druggies, think they're going to headline at the f****** White House. And they probably will. Gross.
