Does Mcgregor have the worse cardio of any fighter under 170?

In Mcgregors last fight (and I've seen it in a few more fights), Mcgregor was basically tired after 4 minutes in the 1st round. Most of the time little guys have better stamina then bigger guys. Mcgregor has HEAVYWEIGHT level cardio..is there another fighter 170 and under with cardio worse then Conny Mac?

threw 74 strikes and gassed.

this is simply pitiful on the professional level. i made a thread asking for anyone to cite a single example of another athlete tiring after throwing 74 strikes. i even included heavyweights. the only close proximity anyone came up with was Carwin who was cutting weight from 300 lbs and still threw more strikes than Conor.

Or....wait for it.....he only "gassed" after he got tagged. Hence, he didn't gas, he got tagged and looked for a way out.

Cardio looked just fine vs Mendes.

Very poor cardio. He's blowing out of his ass early on in the Mendes fight too.

That is what happens when you spam haymakers and whiff. He will adjust.

settle down - he went a bit too hard and also took a bunch of hard shots - lets see guys step up and fight someone like diaz - he thought he was going to win the fight early like a lot of people did

conor fans are prob getting fairly annoyed at this point with these kinds of threads

BJ's cardio was notoriously bad for much of his career.

Diaz nuthuggers AKA Conor haters are even more pathetic than Fedor haters.

He looked tired before he got tagged. He looked dead after he got tagged

Blame the steaks then. I just think it's funny that people say - oh he gassed but he won the first round - like that actually matters.

Packed on a lot of weight in a short time and then tried to take Nate's head off with every shot.

Yeah, horrible cardio.

It's a little too early to tell. Gassing badly in one fight isn't really the best indicator for something like this. He gassed against a guy that basically everybody gasses against, and Conor made some serious mistakes in this fight. He was overaggressive, far more aggressive and sloppy than I've ever seen before. He punched air a lot in this fight and that will slow you down pretty quickly, more than most people might think. He also ate jabs from Nate the entire time, Nate's jab was on point and taking a bunch of jabs and then missing your opponent will slow you down considerably and sometimes in a short period of time.

Against Holloway, Conor's cardio looked perfectly fine. He went 15 minutes at a very good pace and didn't really seem to slow down at all, not like this fight against Nate. Conor picked his shots very intelligently against Holloway and also threw a good amount of volume, too, but didn't against Nate. Conor threw almost everything at 100% against Nate and missed a lot of them, that will tire you out pretty quickly. Throwing basically every punch at 100% and trying to take your opponents' head off will really fuck your gas tank up basically no matter who you are. Too bad I can't make gifs.

He slowed down a bit against Mendes, but there's a reason for that. Conor made some serious mistakes against Nate and I don't think we'll see him make the same kind of mistake ever again. Conor normally fights far more intelligently than what he did against Nate. Gassing badly in just one fight is not a great way to say he might have the worst cardio of anybody under 170. I'd say Barao's cardio is worse than Conor's.

It's too early to tell right now. He slowed down badly once, like, come the fuck on. Nobody can throw everything at 100% and go a full 15-25 minutes, nobody can do that. Conor was trying to take Nate's head off from the very start, you can see by the way he threw some of his punches that he threw them harder than his other fights. He winged punches by Nate's head like a mad man at some points. He missed a lot of his punches in this one, threw them with basically everything he had, he was just way too aggressive. If people can't understand that, then that's just amazing, it really is.

He didn't pick his shots wisely like usual and I believe it's because Nate pissed him off. He fought very sloppy this time and trying to do what he did will slow you down. He threw at 100% and it didn't work out for him, so he got tired and lost the fight. Conor gassing in this fight was not surprising at all, basically everybody would've gassed if they tried to do what Conor did that night.

The hate he's getting is absolutely fucking ridiculous. People will literally find as many ways as possible to shit on him since he lost and it's seriously getting dumb. Guy gasses bad in one fight and now we have people asking and saying he has the worst cardio out of any fighter from 170 and under.

Some of you guys really don't know anything about fighting.

Hope you enjoyed my repetitive post.

Maybe the diaz fight and the aldo fights are the only mcgregor fights, you've seen. Mcgregor is gassed by round 2 quite often.

This is what I've been saying, people have been discrediting it as nonsense. Either way it's not a good look for Conor fans and their excuses. Either he gassed throwing 100 strikes, or Nate proved to be the superior striker. Either way, the victory for ND is coming again.

Yeah that is kind of how I saw it against Nate. He was tired after the first but I don't think he gassed until Nate hit him with that straight left and put him on stank legs. Did he overexert himself with those heavy shots in the first, yea I think so, but was he completely gassed nah. He came out smiling and talking shit throwing the same bombs in the 2nd

He put all his strength into some of those shots. Literally any fighter would get tired if they threw everything but the kitchen sink in every punch. He had really bad pacing but it says nothing about his cardio.
