I don't think Maia would submit Woodley. His ground game seems solid to me, but what do I know.

Maia could have gotten a takedown, but five minutes is not enough time for him to submit someone as strong and as, er... explosive as Woodley. Just how I see it.

If he did get a take down though he would have almost certainly controlled woodley all round, won the round, and left woodley exhausted for the next round.

Judges usually want you to handily beat the champion to win a dec. One judge had JJ up 2 rounds to 0, when DC clearly won round 2 is an exception

That's a boxing thing and even if man judges were swayed like that they still are to incompetent to do so either way.
