Didn't Khabib beat Justin with a triangle?
Fedor didn't hold multiple world championships in Sambo, which is straight grappling,
but in combat Sa,bo, which is an MMA witha GI.
Werdum, on the other hand is a straight BJJ multiple ti,es world champ.

Muay Thai doesn't have a belt system. Skills really are the only true measuring stick, belts mean you went through the system and have knowledge of the techniques but it doesn't always mean the skill is there to apply the technique. Belts are good for a way of tracking progress but too many people look at belts to define skill level when that isn't true. You can be a white belt and tap out black belts just because you are more skilled even though they have been training longer and know more techniques.Does Alex Pereira prove Muay Thai is worthless?
He doesn't even hold one of those Muay Thai belts, not even a white one, and yet he's blasting fools left, right and centre.
Still stands, he's an elite sambo fighter regardless..
Khabib was a white belt in jujitsu, tapping out blackbelts on the ground.
As a judo/sambo practitioner I find BJJ to be very appalling and to be honest I find it lame to just roll around on the ground. Like what about throws, takedowns and leg sweeps?
You are leaving too much on the table which includes the ability to develop great physical strength that comes from stand up grappling. I am sorry but I just cant take it serious in good faith.
Elite Combat Sambo fighter, he wasn't elite straight Sambo grappler, Sambo champ or judo champ.
His strength in MMA - was great transitions between grappling, clinching and striking, which were all high level.
But Fedor didn't hold straight grappling titles equal to olympic wrestler, judoka or pro BJJ world champ.
(neither did Khabib or Islam, tho)

You can definitely do leg sweeps and various takedowns in BJJ. Part of the reason you just don't see people going for single and double legs in BJJ is because of the scoring criteria that doesn't value it enough, and another reason is because you're prone to getting choked the fuck out if you go for double or single legs on these top tier bjj practicioners.
Guys like Karo fought many BJJ practitioners that were top tier and they did fine on the ground. Ruleset of BJJ sucks, the criteria is not built for fighting or defense. Its a way to make money since if everyone is rolling on the ground, less liability with people crashing in to each other since that can happen in stand up grappling. Its just a cash grab and a way to make money.
