I’m a massive UFC fan and have been watching the sport of UFC even before UFC 1. I want the fighters to get paid their worth and as a fan, I want to watch as many events as possible. I currently work at Taco Bell and do 2-3 shifts a week. I’ll admit, sometimes I don’t have much money and have been forced to illegally stream events. I was ashamed of my abhorrent and selfish behavior but I likened it to a man stealing bread to feed his starving family. Dana also scared me away from streaming events when he said this:

Dana is the one man in the world who can go against the internet and win. Anyways how do you feel about illegal streaming? I personally have stopped because Dana will throw me in jail.

Streaming is illegal?

My understanding is that hosting a stream is illegal, however, if you are to accidentally google and stumble across a website that is displaying it and you happen to stick around for the event - then it is not illegal.

Therefore, bc ethics are always equal to legality, I do not see an issue with watching a stream, however, those dirty, naughty hosters will have to have a real talk with Jesus someday.

I don’t do it (more because of worrying about getting VD on my computer and not being as big a fan as I used to be).

But it doesn’t bother me; I doubt many fighters get PPV points and $80 per card is fucking absurd.

Video game piracy has shown that products with better DRM don't sell more. Also game with no DRM like The Witcher 3 sold shit load. If people can afford a game easily, they pay for it and that's it. If people can't afford a game, they either pirate it or don't play. Same goes for UFC. If I couldn't torrent, I wouldn't have been a fan. I can now easily afford to pay for PPVs, but 15 years ago - the price was too steep, especially around my neck of the woods.

But UFC is now included in my cable subscription, I even found that by accident 2 or 3 years ago. MMA is so unpopular around here that UFC events are hardly advertised and I didn't know I had them in my package. And I guess they cost me like 5-10 bucks a month or whatever (PPVs, all included). On top of that I don't get to hear Rogan and Cormier, it was strange at first, but I got used to it very, very fast.

I haven't purchased a UFC PPV since the Reebok deal. The UFC will do anything they can to pay the fighters the smallest percentage of revenue possible which has been proven year after year as they make record profits while paying the fighters a smaller percentage of the revenue.

I'll pay for an absolute banger of a card just to avoid as many possible disruptions as possible..

I haven't felt compelled to buy one for a long time now

Yep, the disclaimer on PPV says that the distribution is illegal, it says nothing about viewing streams being illegal.
