Obviously losing to Thompson doesn't help rory's negotiating at all but does the return of Georges hurt his resigning even more? Since gsp left the UFC, the UFC has had to fill the void of the Canadian Market it once had because of gsp. They had Rory, who isn't the biggest draw but is a Canadian superstar that could be on those cards to help market but now that gsp wants to come back, that spot and money could be spent on an even bigger draw and a legitimate superstar. How much does it hurt him? I don't mind gsp coming back and I hope rory re-signs

I dont think it makes a difference.

Gsp wont be around long enough for ufc to bank on him.

Rory will prob drop weight class neway if he stays in ufc. No way he has a path to the belt now.

I don't think so. Because I don't think GSP is planning a multi fight comeback. One maybe two fights and that's it. Enough to cement his legacy.

Especially if GSP goes to LW, or MW, instead of WW.

Bellator is gonna make a big play for Rory either way. The UFC will just have to decide if they're gonna pay him even more. It's known that the UFC is willing to throw top dollar at people who can pull in fans from foreign (English speaking) markets: Bisping, Conor, etc.

I doubt that the prospect of a short return (4 fights, max) from GSP will change the fact that Rory can be a long term draw.

I think that it all comes down to how valuable Belator thinks Rory can be for them.

I highly doubt Bellator will pay Rory the amount Rory thinks he is worth.

rory getting his ass kicked on the last fight of his contract and talking shit about the UFC hurt his chances of re-signing. if anything, GSP coming back may help him because GSP can stick up for his little canadian psycho pal

Isn't Rory one of the bigger welterweights? Can he even make that cut?

The only GSP fight that's worth seeing is against Rory.

Otherwise, it's a guaranteed snoozefest.

Thompson in a tough spot regardless of what GSP does. Should of re-signed before the Wonderboy fight.

Maybe. But why would they so openly call him by name months ago if they weren't planning on doing something big?

Rory actually doesn't mind taking a punch.

GSP can kick rocks.

He's a big WW, comparing him to Thompson especially. I think he said he would move up in weight to MW before fight gsp and after that he talked about being a multiple weight champ

There's like -300% chance rory makes 155. I met the guy and he's fucking MASSIVE. I'm 185-190ish in decent shape (only work out 3 times a week) and he still made me look tiny. He's a REALLY big welterweight. Easily one of the bigger welters on the roster.

Feels like everyone's talking about being a multi-weight champ nowadays before securing their first belt or title defense.

BJ and Randy were very special guys.
