Does Dricus reignite the A-level athlete debate?

I remember that there was almost permanent discussion on these boards about " A-level athletes" few years ago.

Now that a guy goes in there and finishes two of the MW goats while being technically much worse will it inspire athletes from other sports to try and crossover? Surely at least the HW division is wide open for good athletes to go in there and just demolish the slow fat guys.

Will we see more people have success at top level with inferior technique? Or does Dricus possess other traits that are really hard to replicate?
Like Greg Hardy? GOATs don't get knocked out by Wonderboy. Words like "inferior" and "technique" have definitions that help clarify how they should be used in sentences.

#AfricanGenetics was been different than A-level athletics status. Although I was can become wrong, I do not think Dricus he was Football American Game competitor

Maybe but he's definitely an a level athlete that doesn't get the props he deserves bc he's a white man.

(Sincerely a black guy lol)

He's also knock-kneed, so according to your average Sherbro he's actually a virtual physical cripple and should not share his genes.
(cough cough GSP while on the topic).

No, DDP is the exact reason A-level athletes will not succeed in combat sports. Because he's sloppy and lacking in athleticsm, yet his fighter's grit gives him a lot of success and it is something inherent that those ball throwing fruits will never have.
This is a great post.

Dricus isn't so much an A level athlete as he is a cross trained mixed martial artist. The segway on him during 305 went over his background.

He started off in Judo as a kid. Went on to wrestling. Then started competing in kickboxing in his early teens.

He's a specimen, but he has trained a long time in many disciplines.

dricus is an A level athlete, he has exactly what you need to be a great mma fighter

hulking grip and pulling strenght, ko power, explosion and a durable chin

basically a white francis ngannou

now, being a A level athlete for mma is totally different than being a football or basketball athlete

most ball players would make terrible fighters

now dricus is gritty for sure, but people who think "grit" can make someone become champion simply dont understand what they are watching

You are lucky I've graced this forum with such high level game planning

Why did you include bukake? And with such a detailed O face?

I wouldn't call it "inferior techinque", it is just unorthodox

The whole "A level athlete" thing is nonsense in this context.

Anyone who's a professional in the premier organization of a given sport is by definition an A level athlete.

Andy Wang was an A level athlete.
I think some heavy weights and female fighters prove that wrong. And nobody can convince me Ryan Hall is an amazing athlete. Skilled sure, but not strong, fast, powerful, explosive etc.

Why do some people still believe that DDP wins only because of raw physicality? he has effective technique and good game plans.
Even the lunging in was smart. He protects his head (hands up) and moves quickly to land a power shot.

The weirdest thing is how he can look completely gassed but keep fighting at the same pace/effectiveness for more rounds.

You don't know what technique is

Half the threads are a product of posters having no actual training
