How it feels to drink Proper12
How it feels to drink Proper12
So you think the sponsorship money is better in the hands of the UFC and hope it "trickles down" to the fighters? The Reebok deal was a cash grab and sponsorship on shorts, robes etc... should always go to the fighters. In combat sports it's alway been that way.It goes to the highest bidder that will nit hurt the UFC brand. It does not bother me who it is and I actually prefer it a little greasy. This is MMA, aka human cockfighting. It is not meant to be main stream.
As far as the fighter pay goes I would beleive the momey from cage sponsors goes into the pot and its that pot that pays fighters, workers and shareholders. The more they get the more for everyone. Id at least like to hope that. I mean guys getting their first fight now are at 10 and 10 I believe. Bellator is not paying that and unless you have a reputation beforehand liek the jits or boxing guys theyre not making fuck all off of sponsors.
It’s cute you kids think Conor built a distillery and owns that company. He’s just the face, nothing moreAgreed

You posted the picture moronI have no idea how you think that's relevant to the point but cool.
is sport really that boring that we need drug call alcohol to drink to enjoy it. That shit is destroying young kids and must got ban from sport heathy lifestyleThey cleaned up the branding on the fighter shorts, but the branding in the octagon is disgusting. Monster energy logos, QT gas station, Manscape... no aesthetic sensibilities here. Why does the octagon have to look so ugly? At least have more prestigious brands like in boxing.
thats a sellout move by boxingAgreed

no I do not prefer them, they are ugly. Dillon Danis actually has the best looking MMA shorts designs I’ve seen over in Bellator. So you are saying you prefer the reebok shorts that is not only ugly and generic but also provides the athletes with less money?
Fighters used to shout out their sponsors in their victory speech and the UFC shut that shit down. They’d be fined. Is it legal for fighters to scream out brand names during the fight?
Like what if they just screamed something like "COCA COLA"
Every time they threw a punch or something?
The could get paid per scream.
Thats lame. What if they Change their nickname?Fighters used to shout out their sponsors in their victory speech and the UFC shut that shit down. They’d be fined.
They need to clean up blood between rounds. Don't know how fighters aren't getting HIV.
The one area of sponsorship money that was controlled by the fighters was when they could advertise on their shorts/robes and have their own sponsors. Dana changed the rules with the Reebok deal (he was taking a cut of sponsorship money before that). My point is it's better for the fighter to control the revenue first, not the UFC. I don't have a problem with your revenue split, I haven't put enough thought into that part of it.Where did i say that? I thought me response was cleear but I will gladly spell it out for you and any subsequent reader.
I think it should be shared equally amongst the people that generate it. The amount of money that is made is a direct reflection of the performances that are made on fight night. In order it goes fighter, worker, shareholder. I believe thats the correct order of effort put into the product.
Fighter fight, workers make it happen, and shareholders have provided a platform for all this to happen.
Fighters should be making 33% of all revenue, workers should be making 33% of all revenue, and shareholder should be getting the rest.
33% is not trickle down. That is real income. Id also like to see better benefits for fighter as well.
I understand your emotion as right now fighters are earning around 17% - 21% of all revenue and im sure we are in agreement actual workers are making less that that but I believe everyone deserves their proper share IMO.
