Does anyone still go to Casinos?

Covid killed Vegas dude. The entire soul of Vegas has been stripped. It’s always been a tourist trap but it’s evolved to next level scamming you at every level. I won’t be back. I used to love Vegas
I went to Vegas about 10 times between 2013-19, with a trip scheduled for 2020 that obviously got cancelled. After that, my friends starting getting married and having kids so the guys weekend in Vegas were sadly over. That's basically what I hear from people that still make it out there though.

Back then, the more premium places like Bellagio and Aria had $10 tables but pretty much everywhere else was $5. You could gamble all night on just a couple hundred dollars. Now I hear if you are on the strip anywhere to expect $15 and even old Vegas is mostly $10.

Not to mention the room prices have nearly doubled.

Between flight, room and gambling, you could have a $1500 weeknd at most. Now that's hardly getting you in the door.

I lived in Vegas for 5 years. Got my undergrad degree from UNLV. Worked at the utility company. Trained with Ricardo Cavalcanti and then at Cobra Kai.

I would drive AROUND the strip.

We did get a lot of free tickets for shows. All the shows always look packed and sold out right? Yeah, about 2 or 3pm they will notify you (if you're on the lists) about "discounted" or free tickets. Show up and give the code. Cha ching.

Also we knew all the good deals at the buffets. The Station casinos always had weird deals going. Super cheap eats if you knew.

But we ALWAYS had family and company coming into town. Can you see the water show 20 times? The pirate show 20? No. You can't.

Used to send the wife down with 5 bucks with family to play penny slots til company got tired and came back to crash at our place for free.

Fuck Vegas. Never going back~♡

Vegas is a bucket list item for me.

I don't do gambling well though. I used to give the roulette machine a go in betting shops around Feltham and Hounslow when the missus was into it. It never worked out.

I also went to the Hippodrome in London. Looked fun, bet £20 on some games, lost it all and promptly left...

Got that shit out of me in my early 20's. Probably went a dozen times to Vegas between 21 and 23. I've only gonna back to go to Sema. Not as fun anymore.

I love Casino's, but I hate gambling. I absolutely HATE losing money. Even if I win it back, or make a profit, I feel drained and annoyed. Just not for me.

Love the atmosphere, though. Saw a bunch of good concerts at a casino.

I do it for stress relief or to pass time. I walk in with a budget and walk out without any sort of resentment if I lose it all. If I break even I call it a great day! Free entertainment.

The real casino is the stock market. It's so much more dangerous because you can trade on a margin. Imagine having another 500K at your fingertips and you are sitting next to a slot machine

I live in Reno with plenty of casinos. I only go into a casino if there is a specific event happening there. I actually just went to one on Friday night because I attended an award banquet for my job. Avoided the gaming floor and just went straight to the conference rooms. Was fine, but left smelling like casino. Other than that, I have no reason to go to a casino.

Very rarely. Nowadays if I’m in Vegas for a UFC event, I’ll drop some bills on the fights and I usually do well. Blackjack and the slots can kiss my grits for taking all my money

I have only been to a Local Sands Casino 2 or 3 times to watch Bellator MMA events held their. Never gambled in my 46 years, never will. Gambling is for degenrates.

Actually i lie. Maybe 10 years ago, one of my wifes friends boyfriend was into UFC, He used to come over to watch the more stacked PPV's. During the prelims, we didn't know who half the fighters were so we would pick a fighter we thought would win and bet a quarter just to have a reason to root for someone, lol.

I go once in a while, but I don't gamble.. I don't even drink. I'll go for a couple days for shows and other attractions. I'll book a hotel last minute midweek on vegas.com for a tiny fraction of the normal cost and drive out there.
I live in Canada unfortunately so I can’t do last minute. Our dollar tanking doesn’t help either. I used to go to the states a lot but it’s harder to justify when prices have already doubled since Covid factoring in our dollar. Last time I went to Vegas it was like 15k USD and felt totally soulless and corporate. Maybe I’m just getting too old?

I wish a weekend was practical for me but it’s a day of flights for me just to get there as I’m in eastern Canada.

When I used to work fly in/fly out in the alberta oil patch, we had flight vouchers to fly home we could use for whatever so sometimes me and a few guys would fly somewhere interesting instead. Been to Vegas 5 times, Nashville 3, New Orleans on Mardi Gras, Florida for spring break in Panama etc.

Now that I’m in my mid 30’s and running a business, I prefer to spend my down time relaxing. My wife to be and I went to Vegas last year and it didn’t feel the same. Felt very corporate and soulless.

Only when an event like a fight or concert take me there.

Don't gamble anymore. Only time I'll be in a casino is when we're in Vegas.

I put 'never been' because that was closest to my true answer which is I went twice.

The first time I played roulette and put $10 on black every spin and walked away with like $170 profit after a half hour.

'Always bet on black!' I said.

The second time I put $10 on black for four spins, it was red every time and I lost $40 in 2 minutes.

After that I realized gambling wasn't for me.

I was in one recently for non gambling related business and it was fucking packed to the gills, so yes, retards are still pissing away their entire income even in this awful economy.

You're not wrong. I've always felt Vegas was just a facade and soulless. It's just an adult playground. If didn't live within driving distance id never go.

I’m in Vancouver so we have a couple that we all go to every few months.
The horse track is where it’s at right now!
Although I lost about tree fiddy this last weekend there, still a blast, one of the vendors gave me free ish and I was a bit confused, I then went back with my buddies wife to get some drinks and when she was ordering he looked over and asked if she was with me, I said yes and he said it’s all good and that we didn’t have to pay, so we grabbed our drinks and left, this left me even more confused, but in a good way haha

Not often, I'd rather bet on sports or horses really, but Asian people love our casino that's for sure #NotRacist

Still think its hilarious the Star casino is Brisbane nearly went bankrupt LOL
