NOPE

It's still funny.
Dunno if watched Raw a few mo ths ago when border an a little stoned - hadn't seen in kuke 15 or 20 years - not more than a few laughs . However i can watch Robin Williams, Carlin, Pryor from early 80s and laugh my ass off still.

I compare Eddie to Chapele they were funny for awhile then they got tired .

Taste is subjective, but he's one of the most successful comedians/comedic actors ever ... with a good claim on being the most successful. It's safe to say, most people disagree with you. And they bought him this house to prove it.

Yeah, just go ahead and put that on my platinum card.

He was hilarious in the 80's with Raw, Coming To America and Harlem Nights, 90's with Nutty Professor and Life and then recently he made that Dolomite movie that was also really good and funny

So, I guess thats gonna be a no from me, dog

For me even Chappelle's Show has lost the appeal except a few classic skits .

His Schick primarily revolved around being "edgy" (before that term really took a hold, but the concept has been around comedy for ever)

That is rarely going to hold up well over time as society moves the goalposts of what is acceptable and what is off limits.

The few comedians that "stand the test of time" tend to evolve and take on more social critique or philosophy.... (or observational relatable) and many of them don't really land that particular brand as well. But you get an occasional George Carlin type who can pull it off.

.........

On a somewhat but not precisely related note..

I am ready for the "black guys like this ... white guys do this..." era of comedy to die. It has been done.

Delirious is an absolutely goated stand up special, even 40 years later.

The white guys getting hyped up after watching Rocky bit will always be funny to me

Delirious is better than Raw loved as a kid. But still neither Delerious or Raw. Holds a candle to Robin at Met or Pryor Sunset Strip

He was funny but then his late 90's early 2000's stuff was weak.

Coming to america
Harlem Nights
Trading places
The golden child
The distinguished gentleman
Boomerang
A vampire in Brooklyn
Life

In his prime he was hitting people with garbage cans!

He is funny at award shows. I've never laughed at anything he said in a movie.

Coming to america is cozy but he has no funny moments. John Amos is funny. Samuel l Jackson is great too

Prime Murphy was hilarious

I still laugh at his old stand up's and bits

GOATed and still hilarious whenever he wants to be. He made a fuck ton of money making movies I've never watched instead of doing Raw and Delirious forever. Can't blame the man.

He has some of the best stories, it's still great to listen to him after all these years.

Well fair enough, if that what you equate success and contentment.
Nobody said anything about contentment. The question is whether he is funny. He's made a massive amount of money - which is a broadly accepted measure of professional success - as a comedian and comedic actor because most people find him very funny.

Delirious and Raw were freaking hilarious. BHC and C2A aren't too shabby either.

To me the end of Eddie was Boomerang ....... then he reinvented himself an went mote PG style. Worked for a while with Nutty Prof but he wasnt same and no longer funny at all. Ever since hes been hit or miss but never the same ........ I did like him as Donkey tho .... he had a solid 8-10 year run thats more than most .
