Does anyone here still watch poker on TV?

in my opinion, what hurt the entertainment in watching poker was the new strict rules on talking about hands. back in it's heyday, the speech-play would be really fun to watch for the viewer. the new way of playing is everyone keeping quiet and playing in a very sterile way. it's not good for the audience.

What's the deal with these rules?

i think things changed after jamie gold, and all the talking he did during the 06' main event. i guess people were complaining that he was telling players what he did, or didn't have, as hands. maybe there was a fear of collusion involved as well. all i know, is that the new breed of poker player is like a statue showing no emotion whatsoever. i tend to see this kind of play a lot more often in tournaments. it's funner watching cash games, like when high stakes poker was still around.

by the way, thanks for the previous post. will try checking the documentary and movie out.

Watching people play cards? Might as well let it be bridge.
