I have never been into watches, or looking into watches as of late. I have one from Swatch worth £200, while it isn't exactly close to being high-end/luxury, and I think it looks pretty cool and goes well with pretty much everything I wear.

Lately I have been looking at watches from Mont Blanc and thinking of upgrading, where I'd spend approximately 3000-5000 Swiss Francs. Perhaps it isn't an efficient way of spending money, but it isn't something I'd do often and I haven't bought myself anything like this for a long time.

So, does anyone have any antique or luxury brands of watches?

ps, yes. I am aware that one of the prerequisites of posting on the Mayberry is to at least have two Rolexes and Tudors. This isn't anything special for Sherdog...

Disclaimer I don't own any fancy watches but I know a bit about watches in general

Don't just look Swiss but Look German and Japanese too.

Try not to just go with a brand everyone knows Rolex/Tudor (same company) or Tag.

i find montblanc boring but if you like them more power to you.

I personally like a lot of the german stuff, Muhle Glasshutte,

and Damasko are my favorites-

but there is also Glasshutte Original

nomos- https://nomos-glashuette.com/en-us/...ad_campaignid=21205534466#menu:/en-us/watches

and A Langhe and Sohnne (probably out of the price range)- https://www.alange-soehne.com/us-en/timepieces/saxonia/saxonia-thin

Japanese

grand Seiko- https://www.grand-seiko.com/us-en/

I've had real watch enthusiasts tell me that Grand Seiko's work is on par with rolex but cheaper to buy and easier to get, some rolex stuff is very hard to come by.

Or if you just want a watch to impress casual people, buy a rolex like everyone else

PS- the other route you can go is buy up a bunch of micro brand stuff, there are tons of little shops doing interesting stuff in the $500 range,

i really like this $360 as a possible every day beater whenever my current watch dies-

plus seiko, citizen and Tissot are good choices if you want brand names in that range

For what you will spend on 1 you can buy 6 to 10 and form a collection of interesting pieces that can be used for different purposes, a dressy one for fancy times, a dive watch for the beach, a everyday beater watch for daily life, etc,

and plenty of lists on google of best watches for $500 to find more options

I got a couple Bulova's and a Citizen, can't really justify spending more than I did for them for something more high end.

I have one ... maybe worth $500 or so. But I don't wear it. I use my phone for anything time related , alarm clock... etc.

Like this... $600 on eBay

ive got a few decent to nice watches . my nicest being a Zenith El Primero. Retail its about 7k or so. I have two Marathon 36mm MSARS. One quartz and one auto. I also have a Hamilton Khaki Day/Date, and an oldschool Seiko Automatic Creme Alpinist. I really only wear the Marathon Auto. Thinking of selling the rest.

I have to have a watch for work so I got the casio f-91w. Little known fact about this watch. They stopped selling it for a time as it was the number one watch used by terrorists as the switch in ieds.

My everyday watch . Cheap, accurate, digital so I can check exactly if I'm running on time for my job and waterproof ( although I wouldn't trust it after having had one go wrong after swimming with it) .

I've got a couple of other non digital ones but no idea where they even are or if they are still going...
