Does anyone else hate Chinese food?

thanks dude.. seattle's treating us well so far.. wish there was a bit more sun though.. :P

Anytime, man! You'll get used to the no sun aspect of living here... Just takes a little adjusting. If you have a chance as well, definitely explore the mountains off I-90. It's nice up there...

/ end thread...

On that note, I don't understand why Chinese people don't open up authentic restaurants more. Not everyone will love it but more will than the typical Americanized shit. Society has changed. People appreciate quality ingredients more than a quick fast food sugar or salt/ msg rush.

By the way, anyone else having a bitch of a time typing on this forum with a samsung galaxy?

I roll with a Chinese restaurant owner in bjj and we were just talking about how Americans want their food a certain way versus Orientals. He commented that he makes it two different ways and noted that I prefer it the traditional way, but I got used to spicier types of food while in New Orleans and love the spicier traditional Chinese cuisine.

will do.. heading to snoqualmie this weekend

I had Chinese food today. It was SO damn good. Do not care if it was cat.

Never had authentic Chinese food, just the 'muricanized version. Would be lying if I said I didn't love that greasy shit.

I'm sure the authentic stuff is much better, though.

I'm not a huge fan, would much rather indian or thai food for example.

that being said the food i had when visiting china was a lot better than the westernised food they sell in my local take aways for example.

I should point out that the tour guide did suggest that we don't ask what we are eating LMAO.

also

enjoy your meal

Pass. I went on a date to Chinatown here in Seattle and the girl brought me to a Dim Sum place... Her idea as I'd never had it. They brought around Chicken Feet and these little things that had transluscent wrapping that I couldn't identify. Ended up eating a few Saltines, had some tea and got the fuck out of there as soon as I could to grab a Cheeseburger in P-square.

Maybe I just had a bad Dim Sum experience, but I'll probably never know... Not planning on trying it again.

I have friends with similar opinions. It can be foreign.

Lol everyone in here complaining probably eat scrubby pleb food.

Eat REAL Chinese and REAL Italian FFS. It's delicious.
You realize that there is authentic "pleb" food for both those culinary traditions, right? Fermented bean curd isn't a historical staple of the Chinese upper class. I love both authentic Chinese and "Chimerican" cuisine, but considering that peasants in China rarely had meat to eat, calling Chimerican cuisine "pleb" food is wildly inaccurate.

I enjoy Chinese food, but not from this place...

Apparently there's a fountain inside where the little fuckers were swimming around.

"Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown".

There was an Indian resto closed here in the last few days because "Crucial infractions include: Food handler not free of infection/disease". Nice.

I've seen enough Kitchen Nightmares over the years to not be in the slightest bit surprised.

TS your opinion is simply wrong. Chinese Food is an all time great.

Chinese food is very diverse. With over a billion people, a very long history of civilization, and large geographic area and regional culinary differences, it is unfair to hate it if Americanized Chinese food is used to judge it. This may not be the best analogy, but disliking Italian food because of Olive Garden or other Americanized Italian food would lead many to miss out on some excllentn authentic Italian dishes. Chinese cuisine has brought pasta and arguably ketchup.

I like most chinese food. I'm not a big fan of egg foo yung however.

Chinese food is awesome. Your average american chinese place might be worse than your average chinese restaurant over here, so thats probably a factor.

To be fair, the one time I had chinese food in Murrica, it was delicious as hell and cheap too. The place we got it at didnt exactly look the part either, just got lucky I guess.

Panda Express style Americanized Chinese takeouts=/=Chinese cuisine.

Chinese people don't even eat there. When was the last time you saw a Chinese customer at a take out place? Most of them would find the idea that that kind of food is an insult to their culinary traditions and I don't blame them.
