Does anyone care about Paddy Pimblett anymore? (Hasn't fought since Dec 2023)

I thought he best Gordon handily. The only contentious thing about that fight was how badly people scored it.

Exactly this. He made himself unlikeable with the way he acted after the Gordon fight. Sporting the cornrows for the Ferguson fight didn't exactly help matters either.

It's been nearly half a year and it's normal for a pro fighter to not fight for a few months but not a peep not one single fight announced or gossiped about in 2024? What gives? He's very active on social media and no injuries to my knowledge.

He's fun to watch but he's not a champion. They would need to hand pick his opponents very carefully to get him within a light year of the belt. Someone that undisciplined that turns into a literal fat fuck between fights doesn't have the mental stamina that being a champion requires.

Volk, Islam, Pereira, these guys are always ready to go, they'd never need a 9 week camp to lose 30 pounds to even get to the weigh in.

I like watching him fight, but he's going to be a gatekeeper. Nothing wrong with that, he's still a good UFC level fighter, but the top of the pyramid is a difficult place to arrive at.
 
Conor hasn't fought since July of 2021 and people still act like he is the second coming.
 
He hit his ceiling quick and it’s not very great. When you are winning fights but losing popularity it’s a sign even the most casual fans have picked up on him being spoon fed his whole UFC career. People no longer want to see him fighting cans or washed up fighters, fight someone that isn’t 40 with a winning UFC record for once.

I don't take fighters like him serious, I'll watch their fights and stuff but he's not serious about MMA so I don't care to follow his career. Guys like Tuivasa, Holland, Paddy I have no desire to follow
 
fought in december 2023 and hasn't fought in april. is that horribly inactive?

that being said, i don't see a fighter with his skill set becoming champ but he could stay stagnant in the top 10 for awhile. i respect him for the mental health stuff and the extreme weight loss regime even if its uselessily dogmatic. his fights are otherwise iffy for me and hearing him speak makes my ears bleed.

he is an industry plant like suga just doesn't have his stripes like suga does. but i have to agree with the premise of this, its hard to really care/take him serious when he doesn't keep himself in moderate shape off camp and he hasn't shown me any signs of him being terribly talented at the top level for me to negate that.

Lol Suga is a champion and has fought and beaten elite guys and is always in shape. Weird comparison. Paddy turns into a whale after fights and struggles to beat a shot to shit Tony. Should have an L against that Gordon.
