Personally I would love for it to made out of plexiglass to solve the grabbing the fence issue and provide a clearer view.

a takedown while the defender has his back on that plexiglass would be disasterous. Even if it doesn't break, the friction burns would instantly hinder the guy. Would make for an interesting post-fight interview, however.
