I find it hilarious that he gets this much praise by the UFC when he is the epitome of average career and never accomplished anything worth saying

If he deserved a montage, then so did Guida, Arlovski and OSP who got jack shit from the UFC.

Guida and Arlovski are much more deserving and actually had iconic fights and titles for Arlovski. Smiths biggest accomplishment was not taking a dq win against Jon and his best win was fucking Volkan lol.

I actually like Smith but the dude is shot, if he does fight again give him some random 0-2 contender series or TUF bum he can beat and retire against.

I very much doubt that he would be disloyal to the UFC in an attempt to take his fighting career elsewhere’s. Fact is he’s got a sweet analysis gig I’m sure he wouldn’t jeopardize by taking a few paydays, however if he got kicked to the curb after the ESPN contract expires, maybe doing bare knuckle or something, that’s a big if.

I chuckled when Anik said that Smith's "illustrious" career was coming to and end this Saturday night.

Illustrious? He's 38-21 and has never won a title. Is that what counts for an illustrious career? It's like WWE putting Michelle McCool in the Hall of Fame.

He isnt a hall of famer but its pretty damn cool he went from getting cut to earning his way back and fighting for a title. He beat Evans, Shogun, Gus, Lombard, and Oezdemir.

He was a legit contender for a brief period of time. Rising from journeyman status to get there is a cool story.
