Just wasted one and a half hours of my life watching that glorified Dota 2 ad.

So much cheap drama too... ugh.

I see Steam downloaded it for me. I'm a big DOTA 2 fan so i'm going to check it out for sure.

I thought it was a good doc
Im not into competitive gaming though so watching how big it is was pretty amazing to me

I have been looking forward to this movie since they announced it on the steam news, I have never watched a bad video game documentary. They always seem to hit a note for me probably more than any other genre of film lol.Anyway, A friend of mine said the same based on what he saw ardound the internet. So I was worried this was going to be lame. After watching though, I see nothing that backs this up. Other than some custom cut scenes tailored to the matches which to me just reinforces the fact that this is the best quality production for a VG documentary yet

Watch a Fistful of Quarters, they talk about the DOnkey Kong game alot.
Watch a Super Smash Bros documentary, they're going to talk about smash alot.
Watch a Street Fighter documentary, they're going to talk about SF alot.

It didn't disappoint me maybe even exceeded my expectations which were really high. Worth watching if you like dota, mobas, video games, tournaments/competition. Would've liked to see more match footage but of course that would take too much time and it's nothing I can't go youtube myself.

I enjoyed it too, and I was pretty impressed by the in-game cut-scenes they added. No idea they would spend that amount of resources on it. Would love to see more.

Can anybody recommend any other good gaming documentaries?

Even a decent D&D doc would be cool.

"The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters" is the only gaming documentary I've seen and I thought it was excellent. It's about the Donkey Kong arcade game.
