Movies Do You Think Patrick Swayze Ever Became Cynical?

Steel Dawn is probably one of his worst films, with the lowest budget. Oddly, this came out after his career really picked up after Dirty Dancing.

For some reason, I watch it a few times a year. I really have no answer for this.

If I recall correctly, STEEL DAWN was an attempt by Swayze to get his wife, Lisa Niemi a higher profile in Hollywood. So, he agreed to star in the low-budget flick as long as they hired her to be his costar. But the film was a flop at the box-office so the plan didn't work as well as they hoped it would.

Makes sense. I never understood this role when compared to his career timeline.

It's pretty strange how the beginning of his career was red hot. Outsiders, Red Dawn, Youngblood, Dirty Dancing, Road House, Ghost, Point Break. The dude was pretty much on the cusp of becoming a AAA-level star, if he wasn't one already by Road House/Ghost timeframe. But then for some reason things went south and he became a direct-to-video star. I never understood that.

Steel Dawn may be my favorite Swayze film. Don should get more work.

Cynical over what? He was a ballet dancer who became an American heartthrob.

That's living the dream.
Man, y'all really need to start watching the Patty Winters Show.

I'm not sure he was that great to begin with, he definitely had some solid acting ability, good looks, adaptable and I would consider him an underachiever but he never really had performances, productions or roles that shown he should have been catapulted to that next level, his best work was probably Ghost or Point Break, timeless movies for sure but they're not really what I would call an all time great film or performance.
