Do you think Khabib is bothered by being forgotten?

Wait until Gaethje gets humiliated. Then his legacy is basically in the toilet. The Sven Ottke of MMA.
Sven Ottke started his professional career rather late and was late 30's when he retired. Khabib had a good 3-4 years left before he started slowing down.

With time people realized the man is clout chasing radical fraud,in history books of mma I don't think anybody but muslim people will remember him

ahahah call the ambulance because you killed them bradda religious fanboy trolls with one single post! salute!

Sven Ottke, hahaha, havent heard this name in years! the comparison is so on point its actually an expansion of all senses!

I'm not agreeing, nor disagreeing. I only asked a question to build off of what you said. I didn't mean to sound like I was confronting you.

well I said he paved the way, and nobody has been a title winner like him yet, so wouldn't that imply that nobody did it better? lol

Nope.

Bevause he was in the big leagues over twice as long.

Getting his ass beat. I love Charles story and he’s a fine champion that has paid his dues but I no reality is he legacy greater than Khabibs because he was around longer.

Khabib 29-0 25 fights to get to title shot
Oliveira 32-8 38 fights to get to ttile shot
Both won a vacant title, not beating the champ. Khabib has 3 defenses, Oliveira 1. Khabib still undefeated, Oliveira has 8 losses.
One could argue that Oliveira has faced tougher competition overall. Perhaps so, but Khabib faced more top 5 opponents.... and beat them all. Oliveira has lost to more sub top 10 opponents than he has beaten of top 5s.

Oliveira is a great fighter. This is not to bash him, but Khabib is in a different league at this point. In a few years we can have this discussion again.
My thoughts exactly. Love Charles and what he’s doing but as I said earlier, the gap between Khabib and his opponents was widening when he retired. I would argue he was just entering his prime. He’s just on another level.

It's also a legit question, he seems much more concerned about legacy than GSP or Fedor for example
Funny you say that when I ger a video a day in my feed about some member of GSP fangirl's choir (Danaher et al) either praising GSD or sneakly attacking the men that they feel threaten his status (So and so, was bigger, cut more weight, not a chump-chump etc).

Hope moderators stop deleting my posts. Or at least give us a n offcial list of the people you cannot critizice in here.

He defends four more times in this division of killers and makes it 5 defensex to 3, his legacy is better. 3 more really

Really think about a pitcher winning a Cy Young with 13 starts over a guy with 30+

Charles was fighting savages like Miller and Cerrone whrn Khabib was crushing cans in the D-League

In all of these interviews and press conferences you see young fighters mentioning Conor and GSP, or even veteran killers like Aldo for changing the game and inspiring them. Nobody ever mentions Khabib.

This seems to be bothering him as seen by him calling himself the best fighter for the last 10 years or whatever the quote was and taking jabs at OGs still fighting like Aldo.

You have the OG type guys (guys like wand, Royce, Rampage, etc), the GOATs (Fedor, GSP, Jones) and the game changers (Conor, Rhonda types) and then khabib falls in this weird no mans land where he is basically forgotten already and quickly having his legacy surpassed by the Yans, Izzy, Usman type still fighting.

He seems irritated. Meanwhile you never hear Fedor say anything about his legacy, truly no fucks given and true alpha behavior

They ask fedor about his legacy during pride era. He said he wanted to be remember for being a good father and husband. Didn't care for mma legacy.

I forgot who Khabib was, but this thread reminded me for the next decade, thanks TS.

I think it's because his grappling heavy style is harder to understand emulate. The UFC is in a mostly striking dominant phase so harder for young fighters to aspire to be like Kabib. You'd have to train like him since the age of 6.

Haven't read thread

But Khabib won't go down on the level of Anderson/GSP/Fedor/Jones

As OP said, he is already being forgotten and no one really cares about him besides his hardcore fanboys

Because the truth is, he had like 3 big fights and 2 legitimately good and impressive wins in his whole career, it's not enough

This is dumb as fuck.
What else bothers Khabib, Charles Xavier?

I'm a true hardcore and scholar of all things MMA and I can't remember this guy.
